Why Travis Benjamin is Impressed with Anthony Lynn

With time to spare during the veterans’ week off on Thursday, Travis Benjamin hopped on NFL Network’s Up to the Minute to talk some Bolts and promote his youth football camp and backpack giveaway on June 24 in his native Belle Glade, Florida.

Among many topics discussed, the wideout shared his thoughts on new Head Coach Anthony Lynn.  Lynn, with his calmly aggressive demeanor, seems to have made an impression on Benjamin through the offseason program so far.

“Anthony Lynn is laid back,” Benjamin said.  “He’s calm, cool, collected and he means what he says.  You have a coach who means what he says (and is) a players’ coach who everyone respects.  He’ll call you out when he needs to.  When things need to be done, he’ll go in there and do it.  We have to go to work and go to war for him….  This year, we’re just looking forward to playing under Anthony Lynn and being great for him.”

The Bolts have been a hot topic throughout the offseason, and as Up to the Minute host Andrew Sicilano put it, a “trendy pick” to go far in 2017.  With a fresh start in a new city, along with weapons already on the team and acquired through the draft, Benjamin is aware of the chatter and fanfare the team is getting as of late.

However, he isn’t fazed by the pressure to bring a winning team to L.A.

“We don’t want anyone jumping on the bandwagon.  But if we gel together and stay healthy, the sky’s the limit for us over here in Los Angeles…. We always need to win.  No one wants to start a season or end a season with a losing record.  We’ll go in there and take each and every win that we can.”
