CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Three-time Pro Bowl selection (2015-17 seasons), 2013 NFC Defensive Player of the Month for November and 2013 NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6.
  • In 2015, was recognized as the Bart Starr Award winner while garnering first-team All-Pro recognition from The Associated Press and first-team All-NFC honors from the Professional Football Writers of America.
  • Named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year winner in 2014 after being Carolina’s nomination, becoming the first LB to win the award since Hall of Fame LB Derrick Brooks did so in 2000.
  • With 1,258 career tackles (coaches totals), ranks No. 1 in Panthers history.
  • Ranks second among active players with 1,077 career tackles (press box totals), trailing only New York Giants S Antoine Bethea (1,222).
  • Recorded 10 interceptions since 2012, tied for the third-most among NFL LBs over that span with Miami LB Kiko Alonso and Tampa Bay LB Lavonte David.
  • Set career highs with 5.5 sacks and four interceptions in 2015, the only player that season to have five-plus sacks and at least four interceptions.
  •  Recorded six seasons with 100-plus total tackles, including five consecutive from 2012-16.
  • Posted 42 career games with 10-plus tackles, notching a single-season career high in 2014 by doing so in seven contests.
  • After suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in 2009, 2010 and 2011, played in 15 games (12 starts) in 2012 to become the first known NFL player to return and play a full season after having three ACL surgeries on the same knee.
  • Posted a career year in 2013, setting single-season career highs in tackles (151), solo stops (111) and eight passes defensed while starting all 16 games.
  • Ended his Panthers career as the most experienced player in franchise postseason history, participating in 11 games with 66 tackles (59 solo), two sacks and a pass defensed.
