The Chargers are among the half-dozen teams in the NFL who have gotten off to a 3-0 start.
But Jim Harbaugh's squad has clearly grabbed people's attention with the way the Bolts have won each of their first three games.
Robert Mays and his co-hosts of "The Athletic Football Show" are among that group as they recently highlighted the Chargers for their perfect start in AFC West play.
"They're up two games on every single team in their division because they have three division wins to start the season," Mays said.
He later added: "This team has come through in really all the way you would have wanted them to in the first three weeks of the season."
With Justin Herbert leading the way, the Chargers are off to their first 3-0 start since 2002.
The play of the Chargers quarterback was a talking point among Mays and Derrik Klassen, who raved about Herbert's Week 3 performance against the Broncos.
Of course, that included his unbelievable touchdown pass to Keenan Allen late in the fourth quarter.
"What Justin Herbert did on the final touchdown, but also just throughout this game dealing with the amount of pressure he had to deal with considering all of the Chargers offensive line injuries, these are the types of moments you've been waiting for as a Chargers fan," Mays said.
Klassen then gushed about what Herbert did in crunch time against Denver.
"He is exceptional, man. It's only been three weeks into the season, and you have no idea how long any of this stuff is going to last, but he has been the best quarterback in the NFL. His ability to replace the blitz when he needs to, stand in the pocket when he needs to," Klassen said.
"The final touchdown he throws to Keenan Allen … he drops his arm slot around Nik Bonito," Klassen continued.
He later added: "I don't know how many people in my lifetime I've seen that can make a throw like that. I can count them on my hand. He's been doing that stuff for years but the fact now that it's been a little bit more consistent and he's been a little bit more active in doing some of that stuff, it's unbelievable."
The group, which also included Dave Helman, also pointed out Quentin Johnston's hot start to the 2025 season.
Johnston has 14 catches for 239 yards and three scores through three games and has taken another step forward in Year 3.
Mays called Johnston "a very real player" who has become a key part of the offense.
"For him to show up in the way that he has so far this season, it's been remarkable," Mays said.
Helman added: "He's playing like a guy that you draft 21st overall."

Klassen spotlighted Johnston's leaping catch over Patrick Surtain II that helped set up a Chargers second-quarter touchdown on Sunday
"That's got to be the best catch he's made as an NFL player," Klassen said. "You can clearly see he believes he can make those plays."
The Bolts defense has also done their part, too, especially when opposing quarterbacks try to throw the ball.
"The Chargers have really reminded us what makes them a difficult defense to play again over the past couple weeks … just how they relate to routes in zone coverage and how tight things feel," Mays said.
He added: It really is a testament to how well coached that group is and we've seen that … they make everything down-to-down just so incredibly difficult."
Klassen noted: "They are a defense where nobody is ever flat footed and just standing on grass."
The Chargers are on the road in Week 4 against the New York Giants. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. (PT).
