Ha concluido el primer día del minicampamento obligatorio de los Chargers.
Los Bolts entrenaron durante poco más de una hora este martes en las instalaciones de The Bolt, con una intensidad ligeramente mayor a la vista en las recientes sesiones de actividades organizadas del equipo (OTA).
Los Chargers también llevarán a cabo entrenamientos del minicampamento el miércoles y el jueves, antes de disfrutar de un descanso veraniego previo al inicio del campamento de entrenamiento oficial.
Aquí presentamos tres observaciones del primer día del minicampamento de los Chargers:
1. Thompson y Smith destacan en el primer día
Dos novatos seleccionados en la cuarta ronda acapararon el protagonismo este martes durante el minicampamento.
Los Chargers no realizaron muchas jugadas con el equipo completo, por lo que las acciones más destacadas se produjeron durante la fase de entrenamiento de 7 contra 7.
Brenen Thompson protagonizó la mejor jugada ofensiva del día al lograr una recepción disputada frente a Elijah Molden, ganando una gran cantidad de yardas en una jugada explosiva.
Más tarde, Thompson atrapó un pase de unas 50 yardas, aprovechando su reconocida velocidad (4.26 segundos en la prueba de 40 yardas) para superar a la defensa por la espalda.
En el aspecto defensivo, el safety Genesis Smith destacó durante el ejercicio de 7 contra 7 al interceptar un lanzamiento de Trey Lance hacia el lado izquierdo.
El exjugador estrella de Arizona, quien acumuló cinco intercepciones en su etapa universitaria, demostró un gran instinto al anticiparse a la trayectoria del balón y asegurar la posesión para su equipo.
Otra jugada destacada del martes fue obra del corredor Keaton Mitchell, quien recibió un magnífico pase de Lance cerca de la banda derecha, logrando un avance considerable.
Tarheeb Still también sobresalió al desviar un pase, impidiendo que Thompson realizara una recepción por el centro del campo.
Por último, fue una jornada sólida para el quarterback de segundo año DJ Uiagalelei, quien imprimió gran potencia y precisión a sus lanzamientos; entre ellos, destacó un pase tenso y directo hacia la banda izquierda para KeAndre Lambert-Smith. El receptor logró atrapar el balón manteniendo los pies dentro del campo, asegurando así una ganancia superior a las 15 yardas.

2. Dicker, impecable en la jornada
Cameron Dicker sigue siendo el pateador más preciso en la historia de la NFL, tras haber convertido 129 de los 138 intentos de gol de campo de su carrera, lo que representa una tasa de 93.5 por ciento.
El pateador de los Bolts demostró estar en plena forma de temporada regular este martes, al acertar los ocho intentos que realizó durante el entrenamiento.
Dicker comenzó la tarde anotando desde las 33, 38 y 40 yardas, para luego acertar desde distancias de 45, 46 y 48 yardas.
Posteriormente, el pateador cerró su actuación perfecta convirtiendo dos intentos más desde las 46 y 48 yardas.
El martes marcó la primera vez que Dicker pateó en un entrenamiento abierto en lo que va de esta primavera.
3. El mensaje de Harbaugh para el minicampamento
Jim Harbaugh elogió la ética de trabajo y la actitud de su equipo el martes, antes de que comenzara la práctica del minicampamento.
Entonces, en términos generales, ¿dónde ve el entrenador en jefe de los Chargers a su equipo a mediados de junio?
"La gente me pregunta eso y respondo: 'Muchas cosas buenas. Principalmente cosas buenas'. Estamos en la novena semana de las OTA y el minicampamento obligatorio," dijo Harbaugh. "Buscamos no solo cumplir con el trámite de la última semana, sino dejar nuestra huella. Ese es nuestro objetivo para esta semana."
Aunque un puñado de jugadores de los Chargers, incluido Ladd McConkey, no participaron plenamente en la práctica del martes, Harbaugh afirmó que los Bolts tienen un equipo "realmente sano."
Ahora, tras una sólida primera jornada de minicampamento, el desafío es aprovechar ese impulso con dos prácticas intensas más antes de disfrutar de más de un mes de descanso.
"A nuestros jugadores les encanta entrenar. Por eso espero con ansias el día de hoy, el de mañana y el siguiente," comentó Harbaugh el martes. "Mi nivel de entusiasmo es altísimo porque sé lo que podemos lograr en los próximos tres días."
