Which Prospects Stood Out at the 2026 Senior Bowl?

SeniorBowl

Senior Bowl practices for 2026 are in the books.

After three consecutive days of sessions in Mobile, Alabama, a number of NFL Draft prospects got their first chance to showcase themselves against fellow members of their class.

And the biggest takeaway from draft pundits is that numerous defensive players certainly helped their stock this week.

There were a number of standouts along the defensive line over the past couple of days, including Florida defensive lineman Caleb Banks.

Banks, listed at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, dominated a lot of the 1-on-1 sessions, showing the ability to win in a multitude of ways.

He also displayed his power and explosiveness in the rush as well as his ability to win immediately off the snap.

Banks is currently No. 39 on Daniel Jeremiah's Top 50 prospect rankings, which came out prior to the Senior Bowl.

Another player in the trenches that had himself a couple of days was Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker.

Parker, who had 5.0 sacks this past season, was everywhere throughout every day of practice, wreaking havoc in 1-on-1 rush scenarios and also in run defense.

He had an up-and-down final season with the Tigers after being one of the top players heading into the season, but this week in Mobile went a long way in stating his case as one of the best edge rushers in the class.

Among other defensive line players who had stellar weeks were Missouri edge rusher Zion Young, Texas Tech defensive tackle Lee Hunter, Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore and Minnesota defensive tackle Deven Eastern.

It was also a good showing for the middle of the defense, as a couple of linebackers had big-time performances in coverage.

Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy winner in 2025, showed the same production he did in college, taking the ball away and being disruptive in the pass during the practice sessions.

The same could be said about Pittsburgh linebacker Kyle Louis' week after he excelled in coverage, sticking with players in 1-on-1 reps and being a force.

Even with a number of the defensive players standing out, offensive players more than stated their case as well.

When it comes to the offensive trenches, it was Arizona State's Max Iheanachor who arguably made the most headlines with a good week.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound right tackle got better as the week went on, being able to eliminate rushes show off his movement whether it was in pass protection or in the run game.

Iheanachor has a unique story as he didn't start playing football until 2021, and he certainly made some buzz for himself over these past couple of days in Mobile.

On the interior, Georgia Tech's Keylan Rutledge was among the names that also had a strong week, lining up at guard and center and showing his ability to do it both at a good level.

Among other offensive players who had strong weeks were Texas A&M offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover, Kansas State center Sam Hecht, Indiana running back Kaelon Black and John Carroll wide receiver Tyren Montgomery.

Skill position-wise, Notre Dame wide receiver Malachi Fields helped his case quite a bit.

The 6-foot-4 wide receiver got open all week and also flashed his route-running ability. Not to mention, he had an impressive over-the-shoulder grab that was one of the plays of the week.

Next up?

The 2026 Senior Bowl, which will be played on Saturday in Mobile.

Prospects will then turn their attention to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be in late February and early March in Indianapolis.
