Si habĂa algo que todos esperaban esta ofensiva serĂa capaz de generar, eran puntos. La
llegada del ahora coordinador Mike McDaniel prĂĄcticamente lo garantizaba.
Pero el resultado ha sido vastamente diferente. En estos momentos lo que vemos es un grupo confundido.
Un Herbert que no se ve cómodo, tal vez preocupado mås de la cuenta por el movimiento pre-snap que exige una ofensiva de McDaniel. Tal vez no. Solo ellos lo saben.
Ante Arizona y Las Vegas el equipo ha cometido un nĂșmero de penalizaciones no caracterĂstico para el conjunto del rayo, sumadas a numerosas pĂ©rdidas de balĂłn.
Ante Raiders, el tackle All-Pro Joe Alt tuvo tres salidas en falso y una penalización contra Maxx Crosby que terminó con un safety y dos puntos para Las Vegas. Omarion Hampton registró su segundo fumble de la temporada y Herbert su segunda y tercera intercepción del año.
"Tengo que ser mĂĄs cuidadoso, poner las dos manos sobre el balĂłn y ser mejor para mi equipo,"Â afirmaba Hampton.
Oficialmente, los Chargers terminaron el juego con seis fumbles. Pese a que el de Hampton fue el Ășnico que terminĂł en pĂ©rdida de ovoide.

Es un equipo buscando sincronizaciĂłn dentro de un sistema que aĂșn no dominan.
"Era una jugada importante para nosotros y no la ejecutamos," dijo Herbert.
Mientras que Harris agregó: "Traté de saltar sobre el balón para dejar una jugada limpia. Fue desafortunado lo que pasó."

Como ha Estado la Defensa?
El corredor Ashton Jeanty habĂa acumulado 102 yardas por tierra ante Miami en la jornada 1.
Los Chargers lo dejaron en 48 tras 21 acarreos a 2.3 yardas por intento.
La unidad coordinada por Chris O'Leary ha tenido dos partidos donde por grandes pasajes han mostrado un buen nivel. En total los Raiders solo tuvieron 308 yardas totales, 82 de las cuales le pertenecieron a Tre Tucker (40 para un TD y 42 mås en el segundo cuarto que terminaron en un gol de campo de 59 yardas para cerrar el primer tiempo).
"Definitivamente fueron jugadas grandes," decĂa James. "Son las jugadas que tienes que hacer, las cuartas oportunidades, terceras y largas, es la jugada antes del medio tiempo y no dejarlos salir con esos puntos."
Fueron las jugadas explosivas las que mancharon lo que de otra manera hubiese sido una gran performance defensiva. Pero estas jugadas son parte clave de lo que debes estar preparado para defender.
"Tienes que ser bueno en defensa situacional," agregó James. "No importa que tan grande sea el fuego, lo tienes que apagar."
Se defendiĂł mejor en terceras oportunidades (4-14). Se tuvo el balĂłn cinco minutos mĂĄs que el rival. En general las estadĂsticas estuvieron bastante parejas, con la excepciĂłn de las perdidas (1-3 en favor de Las Vegas) y aquellas jugadas explosivas.
Lo cierto es que el equipo no ha estado a la altura. Y el calendario se pondrĂĄ cada vez mĂĄs duro.
Pero tambiĂ©n es verdad que antes de comenzar la temporada, no existĂa ningĂșn escenario que tuviera a los Chargers en playoffs, sin ganar varios de estos partidos considerados muy difĂciles.
Se comenzó 0-2 y para seguir soñando habrå que ir a ganar estos juegos. Tan simple como eso. Parecerå una locura después de lo visto en estas primeras dos semanas pero nunca olvidemos que esto es la NFL.
Cuando se les preguntó a Harbaugh, Herbert y James cómo se lidia con este momento y si el enojo o frustración estån haciendo presa del vestidor, estas fueron sus respuestas.
Harbaugh: "El porque es lo que trataremos de encontrar. Volveremos a trabajar. Es lo Ășnico que sĂ© hacer. Es lo Ășnico que todos sabemos hacer. Encontrar nuestro camino, encontrar el camino, y seguiremos adelante. Es una liga de una semana. Es lo Ășnico que sĂ© hacer. No es donde queremos estar, pero lo vi en nuestro equipo. Vi la lucha, la competencia. Y eso es lo que vamos a necesitar. A trabajar."
Herbert: "No, no lo creo. Pienso que no ha sido suficiente, y tenemos un grupo de hombres adultos que pueden hacerse cargo de su trabajo y harĂĄn todo lo posible por arreglarlo. Nos vamos a mantener unidos, es duro porque nadie quiere perder dos partidos, pero no hay nada que podamos hacer ahora. Tenemos que ser mejores y solucionarlo."
"Pienso que tenemos que asegurarnos de tener un buen partido la prĂłxima semana, y tenemos que estar a nuestro mejor nivel para ese juego porque ellos son un muy buen equipo (Buffalo). No hay nada que podamos hacer para cambiar las Ășltimas dos semanas, es nuestro trabajo estar listos para la siguiente semana".
James: "Nos tenemos que mirar a los ojos, amigo, decirnos la verdad y mejorar. Porque ahora mismo esa [malo], solo luce a basura."
