With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, NFL Draft discussion is going to get rolling very soon.

It will certainly tick up in a couple of weeks as the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine is rapidly approaching at the end of the month.

As the NFL calendar shifts, The Athletic's Dane Brugler compiled his updated Top 100 prospect rankings with the college football season and all-star games in the books.

There will certainly be changes as more information comes in, but Brugler has built out his list as it stands.

Brugler wrote:

Most of the work on these prospects is done at this point, but I do expect some fluctuation in the rankings over the next month, resulting from character feedback or information gathered from teams. Other changes could come from reevaluating prospects following unexpected (in either a good or bad way) athletic testing.

But this top 100 is a good frame of reference as we count down the days until draft weekend.

His top 100 rankings have some interesting trends, starting with the fact that it figures to be a defensive-leaning class.

There are 54 players on defense compared to 46 on offense in his rankings, including six defensive players in the top 10.

His top overall player continues to be Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese, as the most players from one defensive position unit is edge rusher with 15.

Take a look at the best photos from the Chargers 2025 campaign through the lens of manager of photography, Ty Nowell, seasonal photographer, Joaquin Torre, seasonal photographer, Cassandra Serrano, gameday photographers Noel Vasquez, Joey Hortiz, Katie Albertson and Jared Thomas.

They are led by Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey at No. 6 overall, as a total of eight edge rushers made his top 50 in what's expected to be an impactful class.

Edge rushers are closely followed by cornerbacks, who have 13 players in the top 100, and then linebackers, who have 10.

The position with the most players overall, however, is wide receiver.

Brugler has 17 wide receivers in his top 100, starting with Ohio State's Carnell Tate at No. 10 overall. It's a position that doesn't have a lot near the top, but is filled with depth.

The number of receivers is followed by offensive tackles with nine and offensive guards with seven.

Brugler's colleague at The Athletic Nick Baumgardner released a recent mock draft following the Super Bowl, where he had the Bolts taking defensive tackle Peter Woods out of Clemson.

Woods is the third-highest ranked at his position on Brugler's list and at No. 33 overall in a defensive tackle class that has nine players in the top 100.

The Combine and the offseason that follows will surely have an effect on the rankings by the time we get to late April, but it's starting to pick up.
