The Top 10 Plays From the Chargers 2025 Season

ChargersTopPlays2025

The Chargers 2025 season included some memorable moments and big-time wins.

The Bolts finished the regular season with an 11-6 record for the second consecutive season and made the playoffs in Year 2 under Jim Harbaugh.

And along the way, there were plenty of plays that made the difference.

Omar Navarro and Eric Smith of Chargers.com recently trimmed down the list of top plays to 10, a tough task that saw some cuts along the way.

Without further ado, here is a list of the Chargers Top 10 plays in chronological order.

Week 1 vs. Chiefs: Justin Herbert slides to a win in Brazil

The Chargers 2025 regular-season opener came down to the wire, just like games against the Chiefs always do. But with a chance to ice the game, Justin Herbert called goodnight from Brazil. The quarterback took the snap, took advantage of the edge rusher going inside and dashed up the right sideline for 19-yard gain — and punctuated the win with a slide.

Week 2 at Raiders: Daiyan Henley gets INT in epic 'Flu Game'

There was unknown whether Daiyan Henley would even suit up in Week 2 as he battled an illness in the lead up to kickoff. But once the linebacker got on the field, it didn't affect him one bit. Henley notched his first interception of the year on the first play from scrimmage in primetime, as he finished with a team-leading 10 tackles, a sack, an interception, two tackles for loss and two passes defensed in his 'Flu Game.'

Week 3 vs. Broncos: Herbert's epic TD pass to Keenan Allen

Who could forget perhaps the highlight of the entire year? This was as good of a play as Herbert has had in his career, as he fostered a fourth-comeback against the division-rival Broncos. Facing pressure, and a rusher in his face, the quarterback put it in a spot where only Keenan Allen could get it to help the Chargers tie the game with just under three minutes left to play.

Week 6 at Dolphins: Herbert shakes off sack as McConkey comes up clutch

There were two parts to this game-winning play — the outstanding ability to get the throw off and what happened after. Herbert managed to keep his eyes down field in the face of immediate pressure, shaking off a sack to find Ladd McConkey near the left sideline. The wide receiver then stopped on a dime to get past a defender, rumbled for 42 yards and set up the eventual game-winning field goal.

Week 13 vs. Raiders: Donte Jackson & Tony Jefferson's tip drill

Donte Jackson was a ballhawk in his first year with the team and set a career high in passes defensed. And in Week 13 against the Raiders, he had one of his best plays of the season. While blanketing receiver Donte Thornton, Jr. in coverage, he was able to deflect Geno Smith's pass in the air as Tony Jefferson instinctively swooped in to secure the catch and get a knee in bounds.

Week 14 vs. Eagles: Cameron Dicker ice cold in primetime

Perhaps one of the Chargers kicker's top showings of the year came under the Monday Night Football lights. Cameron Dicker knocked in five field goals against the Eagles, including a 46-yarder to tie it and this one from 54 yards out for the go-ahead kick. Even though those were not layups, he made it seem like it on the way to his first Pro Bowl honor.

Week 14 vs. Eagles: Cam Hart & Tony Jefferson seal OT win

The Chargers win over the Eagles provided one of the most dramatic endings of the year for the Bolts. With the Eagles in the red zone and threatening to score a touchdown to win the game, Cam Hart made a stellar play to break up the pass that Jefferson was able to corral to win the game.

Week 15 at Chiefs: KeAndre Lambert-Smith starts rally at Arrowhead

The first NFL touchdown for KeAndre Lambert-Smith was a game-changer during the Chargers win in Kansas City. Down by 10 points just before halftime, Herbert found the rookie wide receiver in the end zone as the receiver made the grab, got his feet inbounds and held onto it despite the incoming hit. A tip of the cap to fellow rookie Tre’ Harris as well, who also made a stellar grab near the sideline a couple of plays before.

Week 15 at Chiefs: Derwin James calls game vs. Travis Kelce

Was this the last time we see Derwin James and Travis Kelce line up against each other? That remains to be seen, but if it is, the Chargers safety closed out the longtime battle with the upper hand. With time ticking away and the Chiefs nearing field goal range, James followed Kelce stride for stride and adjusted to seal the game with a contested interception that set off a raucous celebration at Arrowhead.

Week 16 at Cowboys: Quentin Johnston's 1-handed grab in Texas homecoming

A Texas native and TCU star, Quentin Johnston made one of the best plays of his young career in his return to his home state. The third-year receiver ran towards the end zone as Herbert laid a ball for him over the top to a place only Johnston could get to and make a dazzling one-handed grab to open the scoring against the Cowboys.
