It didn't take long for Tarheeb Still to go from fifth-round pick to one of the most important members of the Chargers defense.
And he has an opportunity to vault to another level in his second season.
When examining each AFC teams potential under-the-radar stars heading into 2025, CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan tabbed the second-year cornerback as his pick for the Bolts.
A year after leading the team with four interceptions in 2024, Sullivan believes walking into a bigger role this season could let Still blossom.
Sullivan wrote:
Los Angeles' secondary was silently overhauled this offseason… their willingness to let those players go may also indicate they are comfortable with the likes of Still ascending into a bigger role in the secondary. Still was a fifth-round pick out of Maryland in 2024 and was solid during his rookie season. He started in 12 of his 14 games played, totaled 62 tackles, 10 pass breakups and four interceptions.

Still has picked up right where he left off when last season ended during this first portion of the offseason program.
The second-year cornerback has been active during team drills, getting his hands on the ball and being as disruptive as he was a season ago.
He's also been praised for his strides as a leader, as those around the team spoke glowingly about the development he's shown headed into Year 2.
"We were just talking and he said how he's seeing it a lot clearer," Chargers defensive backs Steve Clinkscale said last month. "He listened to us last year but he couldn't really hear us because it just wasn't a clear picture for him with a lot of moving parts. Now it's slower for him so he actually hears us and understands us."
He later added: "Tarheeb has really done that, he's really grown up and matured. He accepts coaching and criticism, even in a different way. He did last year, too, but it's even better because he had success, so he knows that it works. He's really done a good job."
Still made his mark as a rookie, but another major productive season could bring him from under the radar to household name.
