The Bolts had a visitor this past Sunday in El Segundo.
Kay Adams stopped by Chargers Training Camp on camp tour and chatted with the likes of Derwin James, Jr., Khalil Mack, Ladd McConkey and Daiyan Henley on her 'Up & Adams' show.

Derwin James, Jr.
On if last year was the best year of his career:
"I feel like it was one of them. Just being in this new scheme with Coach [Jesse] Minter was a lot of fun and having my guys out there like Daiyan [Henley] and Khalil. Last year I had a lot of fun, the most fun, really."
On being in Canton for the Hall of Fame Game:
"It means a lot, just to be able to go to Canton, Ohio, soak it all in, all the history that came before us and the people that paved the way for us to play the game. I got a lot of respect for them. Seeing guys like Khalil, who can be in there [in the future], it's cool to be able to see that. for us to come out and play the way we played, having our young guys like Nikko [Reed] and those guys step up, it's just only going to help us the more depth we have. A lot of fun for sure."
Khalil Mack
On what excited him about coming back to the Chargers:
"When I think about the locker room, just the guys. You got guys like Justin Herbert, Derwin James in the locker room with you and you see the hard work we've all been putting in these past few years and knowing we can capitalize on the time we have. The hard work that Coach Jim Harbaugh brings and what Joe Hortiz brings, the talent level of guys we have in the room, it's exciting."
On guys on defense that have been impressing him:
"A lot of these young guys are impressing me. I see 99, [Jamaree Caldwell], he's popping up on tape here and there. I'm excited to play with [Da'Shawn] Hand, Naquan [Jones], Teair Tart, D-Line, these guys are doing some exciting things right now. It's a lot of guys. Thinking about Tuli, knowing he's taking it up another level this year. I'm excited, got young guys like Tarheeb [Still] and Cam [Hart]. Cam, he came up to me and asked me what's the difference between him and Charles Woodson the other day. He wanted to know, that's a question that's like this dude, he got very high expectations for himself. I'm excited to see him as well."

Ladd McConkey
On room for improvement after historic rookie season:
"There's a lot. If you go back and watch the film, I left a lot out there. Personally, I felt that just by watching my routes. I'm my hardest critic so I know there's more I can give. I've had a full offseason with Justin so getting that chemistry down and really just the offense. With Coach Roman, those first couple games [in 2024] were a learning experience and we were trying to figure out who we were. Now we've got a year under our belt so it should be fun."
On playing with Justin Herbert
"Honestly, Justin is a guy that is never satisfied. You see it after practice, he's running or lifting. Really, he just has a year under his belt with this offense and you see him commanding stuff and seeing stuff and checking. And that's what [Roman] wants, to talk and figure this out. He's done a really good job of that."
Daiyan Henley
On crediting Derwin James and teammates for personal success:
"To be honest, I don't take any credit solely on my play. I give credit to my team. The 10 guys around me, if not for them than what can I do, you know? The energy they provide me, especially DJ, that guy is a juice box. All energy, there's nothing but energy. They provide me the room to make plays and that's what you see out there."
On getting more takeaways in 2025:
"It starts in practice, right? We sit here and we go against the 1s and I get my opportunities against Justin. If I can start making plays on the practice field then it can translate to the game because I have a top five quarterback in the building right here. Top five, and No. 1 if you ask me. I just want to be able to make those plays when they come my way and I'm pushing for it and working toward it every day."
