For all the stats and accolades in Justin Herbert's career, his 2024 season might rank at the top.
Herbert became the third member of the Chargers to appear on the annual NFL Top 100 list Wednesday as he landed at No. 56. It marks the fifth straight year the quarterback has been on the annual list.
The Bolts franchise quarterback threw for 3,870 yards with 23 touchdowns and just three interceptions in 2024, and added a career-high 306 rushing yards to go along with two rushing touchdowns last year.
His TD:INT ratio of 7.67 ranked eighth all-time among quarterbacks who threw at least 15 touchdown passes in a season.
His overall Pro Football Focus grade of 91.2 was also the best of his career, and he finished in the top 10 in passing yards, quarterback rating and pass EPA.
Herbert continued to grow on and off the field even more than the numbers would show.
"There's nobody in this entire organization who gives more blood, sweat and tears and contributes more, produces more for the organization than Justin Herbert," Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said last season.
General Manager Joe Hortiz added: "I have not been around a quarterback like him. The work ethic, the determination, the leadership. It's awesome to see. He lifts others up."
Now entering Year 6, Herbert will have the opportunity to be in the same offensive scheme for just the second time in his career.
And he's fired up about building upon the successes now having a full offseason to do so.
"I think we've made great strides this offseason. I would say that we've gotten a lot better," Herbert said in June. "We're continuing to put in this offense and master and do everything we can to fully understand it.
"I think from that standpoint, we're further ahead than where we were last year," Herbert added. "There's a lot of work to do and I think guys have done a great job this offseason of showing up mentally prepared and being focused day in and day out."
