The NFL's Annual Spring League Meeting takes place next week in Minnesota.
Owners will vote on a playoff seeding proposal that could have massive ramifications as soon as next season.
The Lions have introduced a proposal where the seven playoff teams in each conference will be seeded by their record rather than which teams win their respective division or claim Wild Card spots.
This new format would have impacted the Chargers in 2024 as they went 11-6 but went on the road to play the 10-win Texans.
And in the NFC, the Vikings would have been the No. 3 seed in 2024 rather than being the fifth seed.
Under the new proposed format, the Bolts would have hosted Houston in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Detroit's proposal includes that tiebreakers are determined by whether a team is a division champion and not a possible head-to-head result.
We'll find out next week if the proposal is approved by owners, who will also vote on whether or not to allow the Eagles infamous Tush Push play to continue.
