QUOTEBOOK

Ohio State CB Eli Apple

On what part of his game translates best to the NFL…

"Just my press man cover skills. That's something in the NFL that's really important, to be a physical guy at the line of scrimmage and be able to take receivers off their path. And that's something I do better than anybody, in my opinion. My press technique is to me better than everybody out there. That's the main thing I do. I'm a physical guy and I get up on receivers and impact that.

On what he needs to improve…

"There's a couple things I need to work on, of course. As a corner, there's always stuff you need to work on with your footwork, your hand placement. That's something I've been watching film on, making sure my hands are always in the right place and making sure I don't get flags unnecessarily."

On where he gets him confidence from…

"Just my preparation. I know how good I am, I know from watching film of myself and just going out there and competing at a high level against guys you see on this platform. I do well against the top receivers and that's where my confidence comes from."

Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves

On his best attribute…

"My competitiveness. My will to win. I like going and getting the ball at the highest point and competing."

On where he gets his ball skills from…

"My ball skills, they're natural. I've always had them. There's nothing I've really done. When the balls in the air I have to go get it and that's my mindset. I don't really care who I'm covering. The balls in the air, it's 50-50."

On what separates him from other cornerbacks available…

"I guess my talent level. How much natural ability I have to play corner. I started playing football when I was in high school and it's all been natural. I don't think a lot of guys can naturally just go up and press somebody. Most guys have to learn, but for me everything comes natural."

Florida State CB/S Jalen Ramsey

On preference between playing safety and corner…

"Don't have one. I can play where they need me to. I feel like I can work outside, in the slot or play deep. I have a lot to learn, have to study receivers (and) learn the defense I'm in, but I think if I put the work in, I'll be able to move around if they need me to. I'll do whatever a team, or the coaches, want me to do.''

On where teams project him to play…

"I think they can see me playing whatever fits their team. I played it all in college. I played every position in the secondary, so I'm versatile. (I'm) probably the most versatile DB in this draft, so I'll play wherever they need me to."

On if he thinks he is the best player in the draft…

"Most definitely. That's what I'm going for. I'm a competitor, I want to be in that (first overall) spot."
