The Los Angeles Chargers today signed defensive lineman Nesta Jade Silvera. In a corresponding move, the team waived/injured defensive lineman Josh Fuga.
A former seventh-round selection (231st overall) by Las Vegas in the 2023 NFL Draft, Silvera played nine career games for the Raiders from 2023-24. On defense, he totaled 10 tackles (three solo). He ended his collegiate career at Arizona State in 2022 after spending the first four years of his career at Miami (2018-21). In 52 career games for the Hurricanes and Sun Devils, Silvera recorded 159 tackles (61 solo), 3.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two recoveries. He earned honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference recognition in 2020 after leading all Miami interior defensive linemen with 35 tackles and eight tackles for loss. Silvera will wear No. 60 for the Chargers.
