Mailbag: Which Player is Most Primed for a Comeback Season?

Q:  What player seems the most primed for a comeback season through training camp? – Christian Bondeson

A:   I learned a long time ago not to make predictions because there are so many variables that come into play, but it's safe to say the Bolts expect big things from Keenan Allen as he comes back from last year's season ending injury.  He was on pace to put up historic numbers a year ago, finishing with 67 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns in eight games.  Those 67 catches were the third most in NFL history over that span, and he was on pace for a 143 catch season, which would have shattered LaDainian Tomlinson's team record of 100 set in 2003. As Head Coach Mike McCoy explained, Allen "earned every penny" of the contract extension he signed last week:

"He's really changed the way he approaches the game and he's become a pro.  He's learned from some good guys. I think having someone like Malcom (Floyd) to watch every day and say this is the right way to do things, Keenan's taken advantage of that.  He deserves every penny he's got.  I'm very happy for him and his success."

Q:  When are the single game tickets being released? – Elaine Patenaude

A:  Single game tickets go on sale the first day of training camp on July 30.  If you want to secure the best seats, I'd recommend becoming a season ticket member.  You'll receive significant savings over individual game prices, special access to closed practices, exclusive discounts and more. Q:  Here's a weird one for you. Which Charger's play on the field is most different from his personality off of it? – Petey Buryk

A:  Possibly the weirdest question I've ever gotten, but I love these off the wall ones!  I'm going to go with Branden Oliver. He is such a physical runner, but might be one of the quietest guys in the locker room.  As soft spoken as he can be at times, he plays with that much ferocity on the field. I was talking with Chargers PR Director Bill Johnston when I saw this question come in, and he made a strong case for Philip Rivers.  Everyone knows number 17 is as fiery of a competitor the game has ever seen.  While he can be just as passionate off the field, it usually manifests in different ways than come game time.  Who did you think it would be?

Q:  Who would Philip Rivers back in the quest for the iron throne? – Petyr Baelish

A:  I take it back.  This is the weirdest question I've ever gotten, but glad to see someone making it possible to talk Game of Thrones on Chargers.com (though I wish the person didn't use a codename to submit it!).  It was so bizarre I had to share it on Twitter a little early. Anyway, it has to be the Starks, right?  I was debating between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, but this Twitter follower cemented the reason why it would be the latter:
