One of the most iconic looks in sports will now be worn more often as the Los Angeles Chargers announced today that the team will wear powder blue as its primary home uniform color during the upcoming 2019 season.
As it also pertains to the 2019 season, the team announced that individual game tickets for all Chargers home games will go on sale Wednesday, April 17, at 5 pm PT in conjunction with the release of the 2019 NFL Schedule. To secure individual game tickets, fans should visit chargers.com/tickets.
Variations of the Chargers iconic Powder Blues date back to the team's inaugural 1960 season in Los Angeles. Over the next decade-plus, while the shades of royal and powder blue would change slightly, the team maintained a consistent look until moving away from the color scheme prior to the 1974 season.
The Bolts' brought back the Powder Blues as an alternate jersey in 1994 during the NFL's 75th Anniversary season. Since then, the Chargers are 20-16 when wearing their Powder Blues, including a perfect 4-0 under Head Coach Anthony Lynn.
