LOS ANGELES CHARGERS 2019 PRESEASON MATCHUPS SET

The National Football League announced the 2019 preseason matchups on Tuesday. The Los Angeles Chargers are once again slated to play three teams from the NFC West and will also welcome the New Orleans Saints for the third consecutive preseason.

The Chargers will open the preseason on the road against the Arizona Cardinals for the second time in as many years. Los Angeles faces the Cardinals for the 25th time in the preseason with the Bolts holding a 14-10 advantage in preseason contests. The Chargers were winners of eight-straight against Arizona in the preseason before the matchup last year, where the Bolts were edged, 24-17.

The Chargers will then open the preseason home slate for two-straight games at Dignity Health Sports Park. In Week 2, the Bolts will matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Chargers will host the Saints for joint practices for the third consecutive season. The two teams are deadlocked at 4-4 in the preseason series. The Saints won the 2018 matchup in Carson, 36-7.

In Week 3 of the preseason, the Chargers will welcome the Seattle Seahawks for their 17th meeting in the preseason. The two teams have played in five of the past six preseasons, and in 13 of the last 17 since Seattle's realignment to the NFC West in 2002. Last preseason, the Chargers earned their first win of the exhibition slate with a 24-14 victory.

The preseason will once again wrap up on the road against the San Francisco 49ers. The Bolts will face off against their most frequent preseason opponent for the 33rd consecutive year. The Chargers have posted 21 wins against the 49ers, the team's most wins against a single preseason opponent. Los Angeles capped off the 2018 preseason with a 23-21 victory at Levi's Stadium.
