The Bolts are looking to bounce back.

Here are five things to know about the Chargers ahead of Week 5.

1. What happened in Week 4?

The Chargers suffered their first loss of the 2025 season in a 21-18 defeat against the Giants.

The Bolts trailed early and could never recover as they were playing catch up against New York for the entire game.

And while the Chargers deserve credit for hanging tough and battling back, Jim Harbaugh's team was also the victim of undisciplined play as they committed 14 penalties for 107 yards.

"Lack of discipline or whatever it is that was going on, we've got to lock that back in and be ready to roll," Bradley Bozeman said.

2. What is the Chargers record?

The Bolts now sit at 3-1 on the season as they dropped from the ranks of unbeaten teams on Sunday.

And while the Chargers loss was disappointing, keep in mind the Bolts still reside in first place in the AFC West at the quarter pole of the 2025 season.

Kansas City is 2-2 after beating Baltimore on Sunday while Las Vegas is 1-3 after a one-point loss to Chicago in Week 4.

Denver, which is 1-2, hosts Cincinnati on Monday night.

Keep in mind that the Bolts are still 3-0 in AFC West play despite the loss to the Giants.

3. Who stood out in the loss?

Omarion Hampton and Tuli Tuipulotu each had career games on their respective sides of the ball.

Hampton, a rookie first-round pick, rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries, a performance that was highlighted by a 54-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

The 22-year-old also added five catches for 37 yards to give him 165 yards from scrimmage on just 17 touches against the Giants.

"It was awesome to see him pop some runs like that," Trey Pipkins III said. "Dude runs hard, we're going to need that the rest of the year. Exciting to see that, for sure."

Unsurprisingly, Hampton had the Chargers top overall Pro Football Focus grade from Week 4 at 79.7.

On the other side of the ball, Tuipulotu saw his recent hard work pay off with a career-best 4.0 sacks in Week 4.

Tuipulotu didn't have a sack entering the game but had been one of the Chargers most consistent and dependable defensive players through the first month of the year.

But he turned that into plenty of production Sunday as he sacked Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart once in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter.

Then, when Dart briefly went out to get checked for a concussion, Tuipulotu had a strip sack on Russell Wilson that the Giants fortuitously recovered.

All in all, Tuipulotu now has 4.0 sacks on the season after his epic game, which was tied for the third-most sacks in a game in Chargers history.

4. What's the status of Joe Alt?

The Chargers will be monitoring the status of star tackle Joe Alt this week.

The second-year lineman suffered an ankle injury late in the first quarter and did not return, and Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh did not have an update on him after the game.

Alt is the Bolts best offensive lineman when healthy and is viewed as a blue-chip player on the roster.

The Chargers entered training camp with four former first-round picks along the line in Rashawn Slater, Zion Johnson, Mekhi Becton and Alt.

Slater is out for the year and Becton missed Sunday's game with a concussion.

With Alt now banged up, the Chargers depth up front is being tested in a big way.

5. Who do the Chargers play in Week 5?

The Chargers will return home in Week 5 for a date with the Commanders at SoFi Stadium.

Kickoff against Washington is at 1:25 p.m. (PT).

The Commanders are in a similar spot to the Chargers as they are also banged up and coming off a loss.

Washington fell 34-27 to Atlanta in Week 4 in a game where the Commanders were without quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

The Commanders, who went to the NFC title game a year ago, sit at 2-2 on the season.
