Chargers Waive Six; Claim RB Gus Johnson

Required to trim the roster to 75 by Tuesday, the San Diego Chargers opted to get a head start on Monday.  The team made eight moves, waiving six players, claiming running back Gus Johnson off waivers from Atlanta and placing Chris Watt on Reserve/PUP.

The six players waived were WR Torrence Allen, C Bruce Johnson,CB Michael Lee, LB Zach Hodges, DT Bruce Gaston and CB Greg Ducre.

The new addition is Johnson, who is a 5-10, 215-pound product out of Stephen F. Austin St.  He originally signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent in 2015, and also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys on their practice squad.

The Chargers still need to make nine moves on Tuesday.
