The Los Angeles Chargers began announcing members of their practice squad on Sunday, signing the following seven players:

DE Patrick Afriyie – The Bolts initially signed Afriyie after he turned heads as a non-roster participant during the team's rookie minicamp. He impressed throughout training camp and the preseason, totaling six tackles, one tackle for loss and one QB hit. The Colgate product registered 152 tackles during his collegiate career while his 26.5 career sacks rank second in school history and seventh all-time in Patriot League history.

WR Dylan Cantrell – The Texas Tech wideout was the Chargers' sixth-round pick in this year's draft. He started training camp off with a bang, stringing together several strong practices. However, a minor knee ailment kept him from appearing in any preseason games. The Chargers selected Cantrell with the 191st overall pick after he caught 158 passes for 1,873 yards and 18 touchdowns at Texas Tech.

S A.J. Hendy – A 6-0, 206-pound safety out of Maryland, Hendy spent last season on the Bolts' practice squad as well. He's played for three other teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, appearing in one game for Miami in 2016.

LB D'Juan Hines – Hines is a 6-1, 230-pound linebacker who signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Houston in May. He appeared in 48 games for the Cougars, recording 171 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, three passes defensed and one interception. His best season came a year ago when he led the team with 110 tackles and three forced fumbles. Hines totaled seven tackles, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble in four preseason games.

WR Andre Patton – The 6-2, 200-pound Rutgers product spent all of the 2017 campaign on the team's practice squad as well. He played in 44 career games for the Scarlett Knights, totaling 90 catches for 1,164 yards and 10 TDs. Patton appeared in all four preseason games for the Bolts this summer, catching nine passes for 75 yards and one touchdown.

DL Steven Richardson – Richardson enjoyed a stellar preseason for the Bolts. The Chargers signed him as an undrafted free agent in May after he tallied 23 tackles and one forced fumble as a senior at Minnesota. Overall, Richardson totaled 103 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks and five forced fumbles in 48 games as a Golden Gopher.

T Trent Scott – Another undrafted free agent inked in May, the Bolts targeted Scott after a dominating 2017 campaign in which he had 39 pancake blocks without allowing a single sack at Grambling State. The 6-5, 320-pounder allowed only three sacks during his entire collegiate career, and showed the same ability this offseason with the Chargers.

Teams can have up to 10 players on their practice squad, meaning the Chargers will add three more players in the coming days. Stay tuned for more information.
