The Los Angeles Chargers today signed cornerback Harrison Hand. In a corresponding move, the team waived/injured wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick.

Hand, who entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by Minnesota in the 2020 NFL Draft (169th overall), has appeared in 27 career games with the Vikings and Chicago Bears, making two starts. He also spent time with the New York Giants and was on injured reserve last season with the Atlanta Falcons. On defense, Hand has totaled 24 tackles (18 solo), an interception, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. Hand played two seasons (2017-18) at Baylor University before transferring to Temple University for the 2019 season. With the Owls, he picked off three passes and posted 59 tackles (43 solo), four tackles for loss, eight pass breakups and a forced fumble, earning recognition as American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week in the team's win over 21st-ranked Maryland. Hand will wear No. 37 for the Bolts.
