Military Hero: Sergeant First Class Angel Marie Ramirez

Sergeant First Class Angel Marie Ramirez has found the Army to be a great way to better herself through education while serving her country.

Sergeant First Class Ramirez was born in Torrance, CA on April 9th, 1978 and graduated from Carson High School in 1996.  She attended ITT Technical Institute where she received an Associate of Arts, Electronics Engineering Technology in 1999. Currently she is working on a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. Sergeant First Class Ramirez' long term goal is to retire from the United States Army, and complete a Master's Degree.

Sergeant First Class Angel M. Ramirez joined the United States Army in April 2001.  She completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina with a Military Occupational Specialty as an 42A (Human Resources Specialist).  Her previous assignments include:  545th Military Police Company, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, where she deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; National Training Center Military Police Company, Garrison, Fort Irwin, California; 1st Signal Brigade, Yongsan, Korea; United States Army Central Command, Tampa, Florida; Tampa Recruiting Battalion, Tampa Recruiting Company, Brandon Army Career Center, Tampa, Florida, and she is currently with the Los Angeles Recruiting Battalion, Coastal Recruiting Company, Torrance Army Career Center, Torrance, California. Her awards include the following: Drivers Badge-Wheeled Vehicle, Army Recruiter Badge, Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badge, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (7), Army Achievement Medal (5), Army Good Conduct Medal (5), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon

Sergeant First Class Ramirez' Military education includes the Senior Leader's Course, Advanced Leader's Course, Basic Leader's Course, Center Leader's Course, Army Recruiter Course, Unit Prevention Leader's Course, Combat Lifesavers Course, and the Defense Travel System Course.
