Military Hero of the Week: Staff Sergeant Cody Andrews-Nylander

Staff Sergeant Cody Andrews-Nylander joined the United States Army in 2008. He completed basic training at Ft Jackson and AIT at Ft Huachuca in 2009. He Deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 with the 303rd MI Battalion. He deployed a second time to Afghanistan in 2013 as part of the 1st Calvary Division. Upon return SSG Andrews-Nylander was stationed in Germany where he deployed several times to Poland and Lithuania in support of ongoing missions.

His awards include 4 Army Commendation Medals, the NATO Medal and Combat Action Badge.

Today SSG Andrews-Nylander lives with his wife Sarah and their Cat Boba Fett in Monterey California where he attends DLI (The Defense Language Institute).

The Chargers thank Staff Sergeant Andrews-Nylander for his tremendous service to our great nation.

The Military Hero of the Week presented by **California Resources Corporation** was created to acknowledge the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by our U.S. service members, veterans and their families. Each week of the Regular Season the Los Angeles Chargers will honor a Military Hero. The honored service member will receive four tickets to a Chargers home game where he or she will be recognized on-field.
