Bolts Slated to Appear in Five Prime-Time Contests including Three at SoFi Stadium; Public On-Sale of Select Single-Game Tickets Opens at 7:00 p.m. PT on Chargers.com/tickets/
The National Football League unveiled its complete schedule for the 2025 season on Wednesday, with the Los Angeles Chargers opening the season at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, Sept. 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. In all, the Bolts are slated to be featured in five national prime-time broadcasts, including three games at SoFi Stadium. In addition to the Week 1 prime-time contest, the team plays on Monday Night Football twice, Sunday Night Football once and Thursday Night Football once. Los Angeles opens the season with three-straight games against AFC West opponents, the first time the Bolts begin a season with three consecutive division contests since 1988. The Bolts then close the 2025 slate at Denver, the 16th time in history the Chargers close the season against the Broncos.
In conjunction with the official release of the 2025 schedule, the Chargers will place select single-game tickets on sale to the general public beginning at 7:00 p.m. PT at Chargers.com/tickets.
With a record of 37-28 (.69) in season openers, the Chargers will face the Chiefs in Week 1 for the 12th time overall. The bout will be the first NFL game to be streamed live and for free in its entirety on YouTube. It is also the first Week 1 contest ever for the Bolts to take place internationally and will make the Chargers the first NFL franchise to play games on five continents and just the fourth to play games in seven different countries.
The Chargers then face another pair of AFC West opponents in Weeks 2 and 3. Los Angeles first heads to Las Vegas for Monday Night Football on Sept. 15, the 12th Monday night matchup between the teams. The Bolts have a 6-5 record against the Raiders on Monday Night Football. A week later, the Chargers host Denver at SoFi Stadium, having swept the Broncos last season and holding a 38-27 home record in the series.
Los Angeles returns to the road in Week 4 for its first cross-country trip of the season to play the New York Giants, looking to extend its five-game winning streak in the series. The Bolts then face another NFC East opponent, returning home in Week 5 to face Washington having won five of the last six games in the series. A week later, the Chargers head back across the country to face Miami, the first October matchup in South Florida since a Bolts 10-point victory in 2011.
In Week 7, Los Angeles hosts Indianapolis, bringing a 20-11 all-time record against the Colts, including wins in three of the last four in the series at home. The Chargers then stay at SoFi Stadium for a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8, the first-ever prime-time game between the teams.
The Chargers kick off November on the road against the Tennessee Titans having won 12 of the last 15 games overall in the series before returning home for another prime-time game in Week 10. The Sunday Night Football matchup against Pittsburgh will be the seventh such game between the teams, with the Bolts winning the last Sunday night matchup with the Steelers by mounting a 41-37 come-from-behind victory behind a Justin Herbert performance that made him the first player ever to throw for 350 yards and run for 90 yards in the same game.
Los Angeles makes its final trip to the East Coast in Week 11 to Jacksonville having won nine of the previous 13 matchups in the series, including four of the last five road games. The Chargers then have their bye week in Week 12 for the first time since 2019 and just the second time since the open date was re-instituted in 1990.
Following the bye, the Bolts have a two-game homestand, first squaring off with Las Vegas. Los Angeles has won 16 of the last 22 home, including the 2024 season opener behind 176 rushing yards. The Bolts then face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 14, the first prime-time game ever between the teams. Los Angeles has won three of the last four games in the series, most recently a three-point road win in 2021.
The Bolts then head on the road for back-to-back games, first heading to Kansas City to face the AFC West-rival Chiefs before flying to the Lone Star State to face Dallas. The Chargers have won three-straight games in Dallas, with the Week 16 matchup being the first at AT&T Stadium since a 22-point victory on Thanksgiving in 2017.
The Chargers close the 2025 calendar year in a Week 17 home game against the Houston Texans. It's the latest matchup in a season between the teams. The Bolts head to Denver for the season finale, marking the 16th end-of-season matchup against the AFC West foe. The Chargers have a 9-6 record against the Broncos in season finales, including victories in three of the last five matchups.
In addition to the 2025 regular-season schedule announcement, Los Angeles' preseason opponents have also been finalized. The Bolts will face off in the Hall of Fame Game on July 31 against the Detroit Lions, kicking off the celebration of tight end Antonio Gates' induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It's the second Hall of Fame Game appearance for the Chargers in history.
Los Angeles then hosts the New Orleans Saints in the 12th preseason matchup between the teams before facing the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. In the alternating home/road preseason series with the Rams, the Bolts hold a 21-20 advantage, winning the most recent "road" contest in 2023, 34-17.
The Bolts then up the preseason in Week 3 by heading to San Francisco to play the 49ers. The matchup marks the 51st preseason game between the Bolts and 49ers, with the teams facing off in 35 of the last 38 preseasons.
