Welcome to Part 4 of our draft preview series, which will be a position-by-position look at key prospects and where the Chargers roster stands ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. This series will include a look at which prospects could be options for the Chargers later this month.
We chatted with draft analyst Trevor Sikkema to break down the wide receivers in this draft class. Sikkema can be found on X/Twitter @TampaBayTre for his analysis.
Chargers status at wide receiver
Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, Tre' Harris, Derius Davis, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Luke Grimm, Dalevon Campbell and JaQuae Jackson
The Chargers wide receiver position enters 2026 after another season of solid production.
While it wasn't the numbers he put up as a rookie, Ladd McConkey once again led the Bolts in receiving yards (789) and added six more scores to his tally.
McConkey continues his stellar pace over the first two years of his career, as his 1,978 yards are the second-most among players drafted in his class and his 13 touchdowns lead the group.
Not to mention, he's also hauled in the second-most receptions and receiving first downs among his draft class.
Quentin Johnston also headlines the Bolts receiver group, as the 24-year-old put together an even stronger season than the year before.
He surpassed his career-best yardage total with 735 and once again had a knack for the end zone, scoring a team-leading eight touchdowns.
Then there's intriguing second-year receiver Tre’ Harris, who played a big role as a blocker and showed flashes of his ability on every level on the field.
Harris' numbers as a rookie don't tell the whole story and he's now a player who enters 2026 with plenty of eyes on him to see how he can perform in Mike McDaniel's offense.
Derius Davis and second-year receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith each handled their respective return duties last season, as they enter big years with plenty of chance to make some noise.
The group is rounded out by Luke Grimm, Dalevon Campbell and JaQuae Jackson, each of whom spent time on the team's practice squad last season.

Is it a position of need?
Not necessarily in the draft, Sikkema outlined.
"When I look at wide receiver for this Chargers group, I think as a whole it's strong together," Sikkema said.
As a position group, the Bolts receivers have a lot of different skillsets that could make the offense an explosive one under McDaniel.
And despite it still being a fairly young group as well, they've all shown what they're capable of.
Sikkema believes that as far as the draft goes, taking one high isn't super high on the need list.
"I think they have two options of guys who can be solid wide receiver for them week in and week out, one of those guys will be able to produce there in Johnston and McConkey," Sikkema said. "I like what they have in Tre' Harris, I like what they have developing in KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
Sikkema added: "It's a lot of bodies you feel good about even without the star on top of the tree."
Key Questions for 2026
1. What are you looking forward to the most about the pairing of McConkey and Offensive Coordinator Mike McDaniel?
"A lot of targets. He's going to get the targets like a wide receiver No. 1 this year. He's going to get a ton of targets, he's going to get a ton of catches. I think McDaniel is really going to be able to dial a lot of things up for him to be able to get a lot of yards after the catch. I think some of what McDaniel has been able to do with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill, a lot of those routes and touches are going to go to Ladd McConkey this year. I'm really excited about him this year… I think Mike McDaniel is going to heavily emphasize him in this passing offense."
2. What did you make of Tre' Harris as a rookie?
"With him in his rookie year, I thought they leaned into his strengths pretty well last year, and now this second season is about, 'Do you have more in the tank.' I was a little bit lower on him [in the last draft], but to be honest I really liked the landing spot. With a quarterback like Justin Herbert who can rip it at any point in time, having a guy like Tre' Harris is super valuable."
