The Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday agreed to terms with Charlie Kolar.
Here are five things to know about Kolar:
1. Veteran presence
The Chargers are getting a tight end with some veteran experience.
Kolar makes his way to Los Angeles after four seasons with the Ravens, where he was a key role player for their offense.
A fourth-round draft pick (No. 128 overall) by Baltimore in the 2022 NFL Draft, Kolar played in 47 games and made 13 starts over his four seasons with the team to go along with four playoff appearances.
The 27-year-old has been known for his blocking prowess, but he also hauled in 30 receptions for 409 yards and four touchdowns as well.
Not to mention, he also logged over 250 special teams snaps in each of the last three seasons and brought value to that unit.
2. Another Ravens connection
The tight end adds another to the list of former Baltimore players in the powder blue.
Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz knows Kolar very well, as he served as the Ravens Director of Player Personnel when they drafted him in 2022.
He goes from playing for John Harbaugh to now Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh.

3. All-around player
Kolar knows how to bring value in a variety of ways.
As mentioned above, the tight end has been known for his prowess as a blocker, becoming one of the league's best in his position.
Among tight ends that logged at least 400 snaps in 2025, Kolar ranked sixth in Pro Football Focus' run block grade (71.5) and ninth in total offense grade (78.7).
That's not to say he can't be a weapon in the pass game either, as he hauled in a career-high 142 yards last season.
4. Productive with Cyclones
Kolar enjoyed time at Iowa State before jumping to the NFL.
The tight end played in 49 career games (29 starts) with the Cyclones, where he recorded 168 catches for 2,181 yards and 23 TDs.
Kolar also finished his collegiate career as one of the best tight ends in the nation, leading all Big 12 tight ends in receptions (62), receiving yards (756) and touchdown receptions (6). The catches and yards also broke school records, which he had set in years prior.
The 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy winner for top college football player with the best combination of academics, leadership, and on-field performance, he left college with his 23 TD catches ranked second among FBS collegiate tight ends from 2018 to 2021.
5. Standout in Oklahoma
A native of the state of Oklahoma, Kolar became one of the best players during his time at Norman North High School.
Kolar was a three-year starter and two-year all-conference performer where he recorded 139 receptions for 2,440 yards and 31 touchdowns.
He was also a member of the basketball team while in high school, where he played alongside Wizards star point guard Trae Young.
