The Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday agreed to terms with Cole Strange.

Here are five things to know about Strange:

1. Experience in the trenches

The Chargers have added some experience and depth to the offensive trenches.

Strange has plenty of NFL experience over his four seasons in the league, playing in 44 games and making starts in 43 of them.

He's got some versatility as well as he's played each of the three interior spots in his career.

2. Running it back with McDaniel

The 27-year-old reunites with some familiar faces on the coaching staff.

After joining the active roster at the beginning of the season, Strange started 14 games for the Dolphins under Mike McDaniel.

All of his snaps came at right guard where he allowed 23 pressures, ranking 14th among all guards who played at least 400 pass blocking snaps according to Pro Football Focus.

Strange also gets to work another year under new Chargers offensive line coach Butch Barry, who joined the coaching staff last month.

3. By the numbers

In terms of the aforementioned versatility, Strange has seen it all.

Strange has logged 1,546 offensive snaps at the left guard position and 808 snaps over at right guard. He has limited center experience as well with 117 snaps there during his 2024 season.

Statistically, his best season came during the 2023 campaign during his time with the Patriots, where he was top 20 in PFF's run blocking grade among all qualified guards with a 66.2.

4. Former 1st rounder

Strange's first entered the league as a first-round draft pick in 2022.

The offensive lineman was selected No. 29 overall for the Patriots, becoming the third offensive guard taken that year.

He earned the starting left guard spot as a rookie and would finish his Patriots career playing in 30 games (29 starts).

5. Decorated in Southern Conference

The offensive lineman earned a long list of honors in his collegiate career at Chattanooga.

A five-year starter along the offensive line, Strange played in 48 games and made 44 starts, earning All-Southern Conference honors three different times.

He saved his best season for last in 2021 when he earned All-America First Team honors on a number of sites and was named Southern Conference Male Athlete of the Year.
