Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is in the books.

Here are five things to know about the Chargers ahead of Week 3.

1. What happened in Week 2?

The Chargers won again by picking up a 20-9 victory over the Raiders on Monday Night Football.

The Bolts were led by their defense, especially linebacker Daiyan Henley, as they limited Las Vegas to just 3.4 yards per play and 218 total yards of offense.

Henley was added to the Injury Report on Monday morning with an illness and was questionable to play.

But the team captain gutted it out and produced one of the best games of his young career with 10 tackles, a sack and an interception.

He became the first Chargers players to record at least 10 tackles, an interception and a sack in a game since Rodney Harrison did so during the 2000 season.

"I just wanted to give my all to my team," Henley said.

The Bolts are now off to a 2-0 start for the second straight year under Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. Before his arrival, the Chargers last 2-0 start was in 2012.

2. Who stood out in the win?

The defense.

"They brought it [Monday night]," Justin Herbert said.

Jesse Minter's group was on point from the very first play of the game as Henley intercepted Geno Smith on a deflected pass from Alohi Gilman.

That was just the start of a stellar performance that saw the defense rack up 15 passes defensed, with seven players tallying at least two of them.

Henley, Tony Jefferson and Donte Jackson had interceptions and shut down a Raiders offense that was among the most explosive units in the NFL in Week 1.

In terms of Pro Football Focus grades, Gilman led the defense with an 82.4 overall grade while Tarheeb Still was right behind him at 81.4. Both players had two passes defensed Monday night.

Offensively, running back Najee Harris posted a 75.7 PFF grade to lead that side of the ball.

Herbert, meanwhile, threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns — to Quentin Johnston and Keenan Allen — while posting a quarterback rating of 122.8.

3. How do the Chargers stack up in the AFC West?

As mentioned above, the Chargers are off to a 2-0 start.

But even more impressive is that both wins have come against AFC West foes.

The Bolts defeated the Chiefs in Brazil in Week 1 before vanquishing the Raiders on the road in primetime on Monday night.

The Chargers are now one of 10 teams in the NFL, and four teams in the AFC, with a 2-0 mark through two games.

The Bolts, however, are the only NFL team who have played two division games to start the 2025 season.

4. Who is on deck in Week 3?

The Chargers are back home in Week 3 vs. the Broncos as they wrap up a three-game stretch against the AFC West to open the season. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 1:05 p.m. (PT).

This marks the first time since the 2022 Saints that a team has opened a season with three consecutive division games.

The last time the Chargers did it? 1988 ... when they opened the season with five division games in a row.

While only three games into the season, a Chargers win Sunday at home would send a message to the rest of the division that the Bolts are serious challengers to win the AFC West in 2025.

By the way, the last time the Chargers won their first three AFC West games in a season was way back in 1996.

5. Is there an update on Khalil Mack?

In terms of the injury front, all eyes will be on Khalil Mack this week.

Mack suffered an elbow injury when trying to make a tackle on the final play of the first quarter and immediately went to the sideline in pain.

Mack, who had notched a sack earlier in the game, went to the locker room and later returned to the sideline wearing a sling. He was initially listed as questionable to return before being ruled out for the game.

"We'll get some imaging [Tuesday] and see where that takes us," Harbaugh said. "We'll see what the imaging says."

Mack's teammates made it clear after the game how much they respect a captain and defensive leader.

"It's a blow to the heart. That's my dog, that's my vet. That's someone I look up to," Tuli Tuipulotu said. "But like we were talking about on the field, what would he have wanted us to do in this moment. He would want us to ball out and do it for him. That's what it is now."

Jefferson added: "That's an irreplaceable guy right there."
