Five Chargers players have been named to AFC roster for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.
The NFL announced Tuesday morning that Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Jr., Tuli Tuipulotu, Cameron Dicker and Joe Alt have been selected to the annual All-Star festivities.
The Chargers also have four alternates in Khalil Mack, Del'Shawn Phillips, Donte Jackson and Scott Matlock.
Here's a closer look at which Chargers standouts made the Pro Bowl.
Justin Herbert
The Chargers quarterback is a Pro Bowler once again.
Herbert was named to his first All-Star event since the 2021 season as he has continued to hold his spot as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
The sixth-year quarterback has guided the Chargers to an 11-4 record and on the brink of a playoff berth by ranking eighth in the NFL in passing yards 3,491. He is also tied for fifth in passing touchdowns (25).
He's also taken his running to another level this season with a career-high 461 yards, a figure that ranks second among all quarterbacks in the NFL.
"It's a huge honor," Herbert said about getting selected. "I'm definitely honored by the Pro Bowl and I think it's such a cool accomplishment, but it wouldn't have been done without the guys on this team.
"The receivers, all the guys that have made plays, the offensive line that battles every day for us and running backs, tight ends," Herbert added, "our defense giving us the ball back and giving us those opportunities and all the coaches that have put us in a position where we're able to succeed."
He's achieved the honor while dealing with some adversity.
The Chargers offense have had to navigate plenty of injuries along the offensive line, with Herbert also playing through a broken left hand in recent weeks.
"Very excited for him, deservedly so," Chargers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman said. "With how he's approached everything this year, I can't speak highly enough of him with how he goes about his business every single day, the kind of leadership he provides for his teammates, for all of us, really.
"He's spot on every day, a true pro's pro," Roman added. "Trying to get better at everything he does … you can't ask for anything more."
Even still, the Bolts franchise quarterback has battled through it and has helped lead the team close to postseason football.
"Knowing a guy like Justin Herbert will go out there seven days after surgery and play," Khalil Mack said about Herbert. "It's like, 'Who else in the league is doing that?'"
Cam Hart added: "He's a dog. A beast. The best I've ever seen."
Derwin James, Jr.
Make it back-to-back years for James on his way to the Pro Bowl Games.
The Chargers captain has enjoyed yet another season as one of the league's do-it-all safeties and earned his fifth overall selection to the event.
"He's one of the best defensive players in football," Chargers Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter said about James' Pro Bowl selection.
James has been a stalwart for the Bolts defense by playing the second-most snaps (830) on the unit and stuffing the stat sheet.
Last year's Second-Team All-Pro selection ranks second on the team in total tackles (86), third in tackles for loss (six) as well as adding a pair of sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
And when you look at where he ranks among the NFL within his position group, he's still among the best.
James ranks second among all safeties with at least 400 snaps with 13 total pressures and is also in the top 10 of quarterback rating allowed when targeted at 72.3.
Not to mention he's doing it all while being the versatile safety he's been his entire career with 335 snaps in the slot, 265 in the box, 115 on the defensive line and 96 at free safety, according to Pro Football Focus.
Simply put, he continues to be one of the team's driving forces.
"The guy does everything, he covers running backs, tight ends, slots, receivers, he's a good blitzer, he's effective when he does that," Minter said. "Just happy for him that you continue to get the recognition you deserve for the amount of work you put in and the value he brings for us as a defense."
Tuli Tuipulotu
Tuipulotu is one of the three first-time Pro Bowl selections on the Chargers.
The Bolts third-year outside linebacker has put together a breakout season, going from rotational player his first two seasons to one of the best pass rushers in the NFL.
Tuipulotu has stuffed the stat sheet in his first season as the full-time starter, setting career marks with 13.0 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback hits, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
His sack total has him tied for third-most in the league, while his 69 pressures in 15 games puts him eighth among all edge rushers, according to PFF.
"You can put him anywhere," Chargers Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter said. "When you're a dominant player and you play with he physicality he plays with and the relentless motor he plays with, it's almost like, 'Put me wherever, try to get me a 1-on-1 and I can win.'
"I think he's got that mindset, which is awesome to have," Minter added.
The 23-year-old has been a game-changer for the Bolts defense and added another career first with this nomination.
"Tuli, to be rewarded for the type of player he is and the work he puts in," Minter said. "That's what you love to see for guys, the production. He's up to 13 sacks and playing really well. Dominant in the run game, dominant in the pass game and super unselfish.
"Very happy for him and excited for him," Minter added. "I do think he's becoming one of those household names across the league at that position. Well deserved."
Cameron Dicker
One of the best kickers in the game is rightfully on his way to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his young career — and as a starter no less.
Dicker has been nothing short of stellar throughout his time with the Chargers and has done the same again in 2025.
The Chargers kicker has made 36 of 38 field goals (94.7 percent) through 15 games so far and is a perfect 33 of 33 on point after attempts.
He is also one of only two kickers in the league, and the only one in the AFC, with over 140 points this season, as his 141 total points rank second in the NFL.
"He does a great job with his approach, the way he attacks the day, his reps, the game. He's a special player," Chargers Special Teams Coordinator Ryan Ficken said about Dicker.
Dicker became the NFL’s all-time field goal percentage leader after surpassing 100 career attempts earlier this season and still holds the mark with a 94.7 percent success rate, over four percent better than second place.
Joe Alt
The final member of the group who made the Pro Bowl was Alt, second-year tackle who earned the honor for the first time.
He allowed just one sack in 184 pass-blocking opportunities after switching over to left tackle from the right side before the regular season.
Alt played among the league’s best tackles this year before his season was cut short in Week 9.
"That tells me the kind of respect he commands around the league," Roman said. "And we all know it because we see it when he's out there. I'm happy for Joe. That was a damn good six games."
Before his final game in Week 9, Alt held the second-best PFF pass-blocking grade among AFC tackles with an 82.3.
"I think it's the amount of respect people have for him," Herbert said about Alt being selected. "I think so highly of him as a football player, as a leader, as a teammate and obviously the rest of the league does as well. I think it's really well-earned, well-deserved.
"I'm excited to get him one of these days next year," Herbert added. "He's doing everything he can, he's attacking treatment like he's getting ready for a game. Nothing but respect for him. Obviously we miss him a ton, but he's putting in the work."
Pro Bowl Alternates
More Chargers players could be added to the Pro Bowl roster as well.
They are led by Mack, a future Hall of Famer who has enjoyed a strong season as one of the leaders of the Bolts defense.
Mack ranks third on the team with 5.5 sacks in 11 games and leads the defense with three forced fumbles. He has continued to be a stalwart against the run as well, doing the dirty work in that area with 12 run stops.
The veteran has been selected to the Pro Bowl nine out of his 11 previous years in the league.
Jackson, who is looking to make it for the first time, is an eight-year veteran who has been a standout in the Chargers secondary.
The 30-year-old is tied for the third-most interceptions in the league with four and leads the team with 12 passes defensed.
He leads all cornerbacks with at least 400 snaps in passer rating against when targeted at 43.0.
Another Chargers alternate is Phillips, who has been a special teams ace in 2025.
Phillips leads all players in the NFL with 23 special teams tackles and has been flying around on a weekly basis.
Finally, Matlock is also an alternate at the fullback position in just his second year player the position in the NFL.
