It's been a whirlwind 24 hours for Odafe Oweh.
The Chargers newest edge rusher was driving home from a meeting at the Ravens facility Tuesday afternoon when he got a call saying he'd been traded to the Bolts.
Oweh packed a quick bag, hopped on a flight and landed in Los Angeles around 10 p.m. He slept to a nearby hotel and woke up around 6:30 a.m. to begin the onboarding process, which included a 1 p.m. practice at The Bolt.
"Initially I was shocked with how everything happened," Oweh said Wednesday in the Chargers locker room. "I had no prior knowledge to what was going on.
"I didn't think it was going to happen, but after a few hours I was with the Chargers," Oweh added. "The situation I'm coming into, it's a fresh start. I was happy. I'm at peace with it now."
Oweh was acquired in a trade with the Ravens on Tuesday along with a 2027 seventh-round pick in exchange for safety Alohi Gilman and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh gave his thoughts on the traded earlier Wednesday.
"Something that Joe Hortiz thought would help our football team," Harbaugh said.
He later added: "Odafe will be welcomed here. That helps our team, that's the reason Joe had for it. We trust Joe, and full steam [ahead]."
The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms with outside linebacker Odafe Oweh.

When asked what kind of player the Chargers were getting, Harbaugh pointed to a player already in the locker room.
"To me, he's a lot like Khalil Mack," Harbaugh said. "Direct rusher, has speed, has dip, has ability to set the edge. Been a very good, productive player, young player right in the prime of his career. Those things and others."
Oweh, a 2021 first-round pick with Baltimore, said Wednesday that he's fired up to join a position group that includes Mack, Tuli Tuipulotu, Bud Dupree and others.
"Khalil was cool," Oweh said of Mack, who is currently on Injured Reserve with an elbow injury. "Obviously he's not out there but the little time I did see him, down to Earth, laid back. You can tell he's great.
"Tuli, I could tell he's a dog. Very vocal, seems like he's a pro mentality," Oweh added. "The rest of the guys were cool, too. Laid back, joke around but they're about their business. I respect that."
Tuipulotu let it be known Wednesday that he was excited to have Oweh on the roster after he let out a yell during Oweh's media scrum.
The third-year edge rusher, who leads the Bolts with 4.0 sacks, later said he envisions a triple-threat pass rush once Mack returns to the field.
"It just bring an extra threat, extra person everybody has got to worry about. It helps everybody out," Tuipulotu said. "When the offense is game planning against one person, it opens stuff up for other people. That's kind of what it is so when he comes in, especially when K-Mack comes back, we'll be stacked."
Tuipulotu added: "We've just got to build chemistry, show him the standard of what it is here at the Chargers. I think it will be easy for him to catch on with the defense because they run something similar in Baltimore. We're not worried about him going out there and playing hard, we just have to go out there and play together."
While Oweh agreed with the notion that the Chargers and Ravens defensive schemes are similar, the 26-year-old said he's hoping a change of scenery helps ignite his pass-rush production in 2025.
According to Pro Football Focus, Oweh led the Ravens with 12 pressures through five games but has yet to record a sack after notching 10 of them last season.
"It's a new, fresh start and I have a new opportunity to get more sacks. I'm just looking forward," Oweh said.
He later added: "I don't attribute it to me not having the moves or me not winning. I was winning, just the ball was getting out or different situations in Baltimore."
He continued: "There's a lot of things but I could have been better as well. I know the fact that I have a lot of pressures, that's going to translate. I don't know when. But I'm just going to keep doing what I have to do and the production will come."
Oweh wore No. 51 at Wednesday's practice but joked he didn't like the look and might switch his digit before Sunday's game in Miami.
"I might change it, to be honest. I might go 98," Oweh said. "I just had to see how [51] looked ... it looked crazy."
Harbaugh said Wednesday that it's "likely" that Oweh plays Sunday in Miami, something the edge rusher agreed with.
He'll likely have a crash course on the Chargers defense before then, but the edge rusher said he's ready to see what he can do in powder blue.
"I know that this is a good opportunity for me to show who I can be," Oweh said.
He later added: "This is the perfect place for me."
