3 Chargers Players to Watch Against Colts in Week 7

The Chargers are back for the first of two home games, starting in Week 7 against Indianapolis.

The Bolts will face the Colts from SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. (PT).

Here are three players to watch on Sunday:

1. WR Ladd McConkey

The wide receiver has been heating up in recent weeks.

After catching his first touchdown of 2025 in Week 5, McConkey followed it up with his first 100-yard game of the year against the Dolphins.

McConkey led the team with seven receptions, including the highlight catch-and-run of 42 yards that helped the Bolts to a last-second win.

His last couple of weeks has been a great development for Justin Herbert and the Bolts offense.

"It's great to see Ladd get involved in a big way in the offense," Chargers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman said. "It makes a big difference."

The second-year receiver is now at 313 receiving yards heading into Week 7 and faces an aggressive Indianapolis defense.

The Colts have taken the ball away nine times in six games, seven of those being interceptions and have lined up in press coverage look 275 times so far, the sixth-most in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

McConkey will have his opportunities to build on his performances once again as he looks to continue his recent play.

2. RB Kimani Vidal

What a first career start it was for Vidal.

The Chargers 2024 sixth-round pick made the most of his opportunity in Week 6 as he was the featured back and helped give the offense a boost.

Vidal finished the game with 122 rushing yards and 138 total yards, plus a receiving touchdown that was the second of his career.

"What's been standing out is his preparation over the last year, year and a half since he's been with us. The attention to detail, the focus, the training, the competitiveness mindset he has, the shape he's gotten himself into," Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said. "He's become a real pro. Just done a great job.

"I was really excited, he's one of the guys I was most excited about as a next man up to see him go out and not just another game for him, it's the game," Harbaugh added. "He rose to the challenge, career day. There's things to improve, but I thought he had a great day."

With the Chargers top two running backs on Injured Reserve, Vidal has a big opportunity in front of him in the coming weeks — and he got off to a good start in Week 6.

Now awaiting Vidal is the Colts defense which is allowing 96.3 rushing yards per game, good for 12^th best in the league.

They are a firm defense, however, as they enter Week 7 tied for the second-fewest missed tackles on run plays with 13 according to Pro Football Focus and just a 10 percent missed tackle rate.

Vidal is ready to build on what was a breakout performance for him, this time at home.

"I try not to focus on it. It takes what it takes throughout the week," Vidal said. "Work, keep trying to get better, work on what I need to correct, correct those things and move on.

"That game is over, it's in the past and focus on the Colts," Vidal added.
