The Los Angeles Chargers today agreed to terms with long snapper Josh Harris, defensive back Deane Leonard and linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips.
Harris returns to the Chargers, having snapped in 61 games with the Bolts over the last four years (59 regular season, two postseason). He has been a key piece of the Los Angeles kicking operation, snapping for a unit that has made a league-best 93.3 percent of its field goal attempts (139-of-149) over the last four seasons. Harris' consistency helped kicker Cameron Dicker become the most accurate kicker in NFL history and earn Pro Bowl honors in 2025. Harris' efforts also helped both Dicker and punter JK Scott earn multiple AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, along with Dicker's AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honor in 2022.
Since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Harris has appeared in 225 games with the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers, including 10 in the postseason. In 2021 with Atlanta, he was named to the Pro Bowl and recognized as a second-team All-Pro by The Associated Press. Over his career, Harris has contributed to special teams operations that saw three different kickers earn Pro Bowl recognition (Cameron Dicker, 2025 season; Younghoe Koo, 2020 season; and Matt Bryant, 2016 season). The Carrollton, Ga., native played his college football at Auburn, helping the Tigers win the BCS National Championship over Oregon following the 2010 season.

Leonard, a seventh-round pick by the Chargers in the 2022 NFL Draft (236th overall), has appeared in 50 games and made three starts, including the postseason. He has recorded 26 tackles (19 solo), seven passes defensed, two tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a recovery on defense, while adding 23 special teams tackles. During the 2025 season, Leonard made eight appearances as a member of the defense and special teams unit, recording four special teams tackles and assisting on a defensive stop.
In two seasons at Mississippi, Leonard played in 19 games for the Rebels, totaling 64 tackles (38 solo), 11 passes defensed, a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. He transferred to Mississippi after three seasons at the University of Calgary (Canada). In 23 games for the Dinos, Leonard recorded 47 tackles (44 solo), two forced fumbles and six interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns. He also averaged 10.3 yards per punt return and scored a touchdown on a 60-yard return as a freshman.

Phillips returns to the Bolts after recording a 2025 campaign where he was among the most effective special teams players in the NFL, earning second-team All-Pro recognition from The Associated Press as a special teamer. His 24 special teams tackles were the second-most in the NFL in 2025 and the most by any Charger in a single season over the last 30 years. Phillips competed in all 18 games for the Bolts in 2025, including the postseason, with a start at linebacker in Week 18. Defensively, he totaled 15 tackles (five solo), a five-yard sack, a tackle for loss and fumble recovery.
Originally entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta in 2019, Phillips got his first action with Buffalo in 2020. He has appeared in 86 career regular-season games, including three starts, with the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers. One of football's premier special teams players, Phillips has recorded 58 special teams tackles in his career, ranking sixth in the NFL since 2020. He opened his collegiate career at Garden City Community College in Kansas (2015-16), where he won the 2016 NJCAA National Championship.
