The Los Angeles Chargers today agreed to terms with defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson.
Tomlinson comes to Los Angeles after spending the 2025 season with the Arizona Cardinals where he started all 17 games totaling 26 tackles (13 solo), a sack, three quarterback hits, three tackles for loss and a pass defensed. Before signing with the Cardinals, he spent two seasons (2023-24) with the Cleveland Browns, where he was part of a unit were the top-ranked defense in the NFL in total defense (270.2 total net yards allowed per game) and passing defense (164.7 net passing yards per game) in 2023. A nine-year veteran, Tomlinson has started all 142 regular season games he played with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals, recording 368 tackles (181 solo), 20 sacks, 70 quarterback hits, 39 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a pair of recoveries and eight passes defensed.
Originally a second-round choice by New York in the 2017 NFL Draft (55th overall), Tomlinson started all 64 games he appeared in with the Giants, turning in 207 tackles (106 solo), eight sacks, 20 quarterback hits, 21 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and five passes defensed. He earned All-Rookie recognition in 2017 from the Professional Football Writers of America after registering 50 tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit and a pass breakup. A force on and off the field, Tomlinson was the Giants' 2020 nomination for the NFL's most prestigious honor, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
Tomlinson played five seasons (2012-16) at the University of Alabama where he won a pair of National Championships (2012, '15). He appeared in 45 games for the Crimson Tide, totaling 122 tackles (39 solo), 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, a forced fumble and 10 passes defensed.
