Here are 10 facts about the 2025 Chargers schedule:
1. International game history
The Chargers are heading to Brazil.
The Bolts will open the 2025 season with a Week 1 game in São Paulo on Friday, September 5 at Arena Corinthians.
Their opponent will be the Kansas City Chiefs as the game will be broadcast on YouTube and YouTube TV, marking the first-ever NFL game broadcast live on YouTube.
This game will be the first international game for the Chargers in six seasons.
The Bolts last played outside of the United States in 2019 when they faced off against the Chiefs at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
It's the team's eighth overall international game, four of which have come in the regular season. The Bolts have played twice at Wembley Stadium in London and also played in a 1976 preseason game in Tokyo, Japan. They later played preseason games in Berlin, Tokyo and Sydney, Australia.
And when the game in South America kicks off, the Chargers will become first-ever NFL team to play games on five continents.
2. Heavy AFC West start
It won't take long for the Chargers to get their first glimpse of the AFC West.
The Bolts will start the year with three straight division games for the first time since 1988, as they visit the Raiders in Week 2 and host the Broncos in Week 3 after opening the season against the Chiefs in Brazil.
It also marks the first time a team has started the season with three straight division games since the Saints in 2022.

3. Bye Week
The Bolts will get their much-needed week off during the second half of the season.
The team's bye week lands in Week 12 this season after back-to-back seasons with a Week 5 bye.
It's the latest bye week the team has had since the 2019 season when they were also off in Week 12 and only the second time they've had this week off since 1990.
4. Plenty of playoff teams
The Bolts will play a second-place schedule based on their 11-6 finish, setting up a 2025 against a number of last season's playoff teams.
They will play a total of nine games against playoff teams from a year ago, with four of those coming from their own division against the Chiefs and Broncos.
However, the Chargers will get to face the rest of the playoff opponents outside of their division at home, as they host the Texans, Eagles, Commanders, Steelers and Vikings at SoFi Stadium.
5. Eyes on the Bolts in primetime
There will be plenty of spotlight on the Chargers in 2025.
They are currently slated to have five standalone games in 2025 — including the opener in Brazil — after having just three when the schedule was released last year.
It will be the most the Bolts have had since 2023, when they had six standalone games.
6. Racking up the air miles
The Bolts will lead the NFL in air miles for a second consecutive season.
The team is slated to travel the most miles of any NFL team once again this year with 37,086. The Chargers will fly 2,000-plus more miles than Rams, who are second on the list.
Of course, the game in Brazil is the furthest this season for the Chargers, but they will also travel across 42 total time zones.

7. A break from travel
After a busy travel schedule for the team in the first part of the year, the Chargers will get a break for a bit of time in the later months of the season.
The team will not leave Los Angeles for nearly a month after returning from Jacksonville in Week 11.
With a bye week and two consecutive home games following that game, the Bolts will not have to travel from November 16th until their Week 15 game in Kansas City on December 14th.
8. Multiple Monday night games
There's something about the Chargers on Monday night.
They are slated to have two games in the Monday Night Football slot for a fourth consecutive season, as they will visit the Raiders in Week 3 and host the Eagles in Week 14.
The Bolts will play the Raiders in this primetime slot for the first time since the 2021 season, but you have to go back to 2012 to find the last time they went on the road to play them on Monday night. It's the 12th matchup overall between the teams on Monday
Night Football, with the Chargers holding a 6-5 advantage in those games.
Meanwhile, it will mark the first time they play the Eagles in that primetime slot.
9. Closing in Denver
The Chargers regular season will come to a close against another divisional foe.
It will be the first time the Bolts play the last game of the regular season against the Broncos since 2022, and just the second time since the 2018 season, as it will mark the 16th season finale against the Broncos and the eighth to take place on the road.
The Chargers have a 9-6 record in season finales against Denver.
10. First SoFi trips
There will be a couple of first-time visitors from the AFC South at SoFi Stadium this year.
When the Texans and Colts play against the Chargers in Los Angeles, it will be both teams' first time ever playing at the stadium that opened in 2020. Their most recent matchup in Los Angeles came in 2019.
And while the Eagles and Commanders have played at SoFi before, it will be their first time playing against the Chargers there.
