Despite Sunday's loss, Philip Rivers and Joey Bosa's play against the Raiders earned them nominations for noteworthy Week 5 awards.
Rivers is up for the FedEx Air Player of the Week award after completing 21 of 30 attempts (70%) for 359 yards and four touchdowns for a 122.2 passer rating. In the process, he passed Johnny Unitas (290) and Warren Moon (291) for ninth in NFL history with 292 career touchdown passes.
Rivers is nominated alongside the New England Patriots' Tom Brady and Pittsburgh Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger.
Meanwhile, Bosa is up for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award after an impressive debut. Number 99 totaled five tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and two QB hits. He did so while on a snap count as he was on the field for just 27 snaps, or 38% of the defensive plays.
Bosa is nominated alongside the Dallas Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott, Chicago Bears Jordan Howard, Green Bay Packers' Kyler Fackrell and Philadelphia Eagles' Carson Wentz.
