Running Recap: Colts Top Bolts 26-22

The San Diego Chargers fell to the Indianapolis Colts 26-22.  The Colts scored on their opening possession with kicker Adam Vinatieri booting a 38-yard field goal to give the home team the 3-0 lead.  Indianapolis increased their lead 10-0 after Frank Gore rushed up the middle on second down for a six-yard score.  The Bolts' first points of the game came when Josh Lambo booted a 42-yard field goal.  Lambo then tacked on three more, four plays after Casey Hayward picked off Andrew Luck.  The field goal flurry didn't stop there.  Vinatieri made it 13-6 after making a 33 yarder.  San Diego was driving downfield, but committed their first red zone turnover in 16 games after Erik Walden came in to strip-sack Rivers.  The Colts recovered the fumble; however, five plays later, Caraun Reid scored a defensive touchdown for the Bolts as Jatavis Brown sacked and stripped Luck.  Reid picked up the fumble and ran it back 61 yards to tie the game.

Melvin Gordon scored the Bolts' first touchdown of the day capping off a 12-play, 80-yard drive.  After a missed extra point, the Bolts took the lead, 19-13.  The Colts then regained the lead after Robert Turbin ran it in for a one-yard score.  After getting down to the Colts' nine-yard line, Lambo made it 22-20 after a 27-yard field goal.  Two plays after converting a fourth down, Andrew Luck found T.Y. Hilton who took the ball 63 yards into the end zone.  After a failed two-point conversion, Indy regained the lead 26-22.  The Chargers then started driving with just over a minute to play, but on second down, Clayton Geathers came in to pop the ball free from Hunter Henry's arms and the Colts recovered to ultimately walk out of their stadium with a win.
