The San Diego Chargers dropped their fourth-straight after losing to the Cleveland Browns 20-17. The Chargers got on the board first off a drive that included a 50-yard completion from Philip Rivers to Travis Benjamin and a fourth down rush from Kenneth Farrow to move the chains. For the score, Rivers connected with Antonio Gates to make it 7-0, San Diego. The Browns tied it 7-7 off an eight-yard rushing touchdown from Isaiah Crowell. The Bolts regained the lead 10-7, after Josh Lambo made a 43-yard field goal; however, on the ensuing Browns' drive, Cleveland went 75 yards in 10 plays to take the lead 14-10 after a second touchdown from Crowell. The Browns capitalized on a Chargers turnover after kicking a field goal 10 plays off a Rivers interception for a 17-10 lead that the Browns took into halftime.
The Browns added three to their lead after Parkey's 27-yard field goal was good. On the ensuing Chargers' drive, Tyrell Williams came up big with two completions of 20 and 16 yards and ended up scoring a one-yard touchdown to put the Chargers within three. The score remained 20-17 heading into the fourth; however, on the Browns' second drive in the final quarter of action, Robert Griffin III went out and Cody Kessler entered the game. The Bolts got great field position with 4:49 left in the game and ended up getting down to the Cleveland 14; however, Lambo's field goal attempt was blocked and the Browns regained possession with 3:49 left in the game. The Browns eventually punted and the Bolts got the ball with 1:46 to go. On 4th-and-10, Rivers found Antonio Gates for a gain of 25 to move to the Cleveland 35. Unfortunately, it was too little too late as four plays later, Josh Lambo's 45-yard field goal was no good and the Browns clinched their first win of the season.

2:13 – Andrew Hawkins took in a Griffin pass, bobbled it, but then corralled it back in for a 21-yard gain.
:41 – Joey Bosa notched his 8.5 sack of the season after taking Griffin down for a loss of 11.

13:17 – Duke Johnson found a gaping hole and took the ball 22 yards to the San Diego eight.

9:45 – Rivers found Tyrell Williams for 20 on third down. On the next play, Williams gained 16 to take the ball into Cleveland territory.
6:09 – Williams made a one-handed catch good for a touchdown to put the Bolts within three, 20-17.
5:30 – Bosa made his presence felt again, sacking Griffin for a loss of four.
2:36 – Derek Watt took in a short pass good for 16 on third down.
