Casey Hayward kept pace with Travis Benjamin to force an interception on a deep ball.

Tre Boston sent the defense into a wild celebration with a pick in the end zone to end the day.

Michael Davis intercepted a deflected pass in the end zone and then turned on his jets for a pick-six.

Philip Rivers connected with Dontrelle Inman for a nice gain during the two-minute drill.

Sean McGrath made a toe-tapping TD snare in the back of the end zone.

Philip Rivers showed nice touch on a pass to Keenan Allen.

Jason Verrett had blanket coverage on Keenan Allen to break up a pass.

Jerry Attaochu had a fantastic get-off to reach the QB in a millisecond.

Desmond King made an outstanding play on the ball to pop it up, but Da'Ron Brown showed tremendous concentration for a juggling catch while on the ground.

Chris McCain continued his strong camp with a several speed rushes to get to the QB.

Jamaal Jones brought his teammates to their feet after stopping on a dime to make a nifty catch.

Andre Williams' strength was on display as he powered through the defense.

Isaac Rochell used his size to get to the passer during 1-on-1s.

Hunter Henry caught a pass on 4th-and-goal just shy of the goal line but extended it over for the score.

WHO IMPRESSED:

Ricky Henne's Take:The secondary showed out with a very strong day. They picked off at least five balls by my count, and the high-energy group played with notable swagger. Meanwhile, after yesterday's practice, Chris McCain was even better today. The long, rangy defensive end is showing he can make a difference at the LEO position for defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

Hayley Elwood's Take:In speaking to the secondary, I was impressed by Michael Davis.  I was interested to see how he would perform with the pads on, and Tuesday's practice helped his showing.  His most notable moment came when he intercepted the ball off a tipped pass.  Once he corralled it, he ran it back for a touchdown.  Training camp is all about making plays and standing out, and Davis brought the defense to their feet on Tuesday.

ODDS AND ENDS:

Head Coach Anthony Lynn said Mike Williams is back to running and is making progess.

Jason Verrett returned to full team drills today.

The team put the heaviest emphasis on goal line thus far in camp.

Practice is open to the public again on Friday, August 11 at Jack Hammett Sports Complex.  Gates open at 9:00 a.m.

BOLTS QUOTEBOOK:

"Anytime you can get one of your top guys on defense back, it gives you a boost on defense for sure." – CB Casey Hayward on fellow CB Jason Verrett

"We have the talent, the team chemistry, we just need to keep moving in the same direction." – OT Joe Barksdale

*"I like the way the guys are taking care of the install.  The less mistakes we have, (the better).  That's my evaluation of these guys getting better and going out and executing.  I like everything, I don't like the fact that we've had some injuries.  But guys are working hard, competing and doing things we asked them to do." *– Head Coach Anthony Lynn
