WHO IMPRESSED:

Ricky Henne's Take:Casey Hayward has been lights out all training camp, but he really took it to another level on Wednesday.  The Pro Bowler went a perfect three-for-three during 1-on-1s, firing up his teammates and the crowd with his play.  Meanwhile, Antonio Gates made some vintage catches during the final period.  The Bolts were focusing on the two-minute offense, and number 85 followed up a lengthy gain with a nifty grab to the one-yard line.

Hayley Elwood's Take:I was really impressed with Desmond King.  Although he's a rookie and still finding his way, he made plays during the joint practice that stood out and took the competition to another level.  One in particular happened towards the end of the practice.  As the Rams receiver was coming towards the ball, King essentially appeared out of nowhere to catch up with the wideout, cross in front of him and bat the ball down.  The play immediately elicited cheers from the defense.

ODDS AND ENDS:

The "Fight for LA" was in full effect as the Bolts and Rams had a spirited practice that featured three different scuffles.

Tyrell Williams was given a rest day while Casey Hayward was removed midway through practice to give him a breather as well.

The players get their second off day of training camp on Thursday.  Practice resumes Friday and is open to the public at Jack Hammett Sports Complex.  Gates open at 9:00 a.m.

BOLTS QUOTEBOOK:

*"You can't complete nothin'!" – *Cornerback Casey Hayward on the field after dominating in 1-on-1s.

*"It was two competitors.  Two competitors from two different teams who both want to win.  It's the nature of us, it's an aggressive nature.  He thinks he shouldn't take anything from me and I think the same way." – *Wide Receiver Dontrelle Inman

*"You have to be there for one another.  (If) your brother is going to war, you have to be there to back him up.  You can't be afraid; you can't be scared." – *Running Back Melvin Gordon
