Chargers Mourn the Loss of Alumni Larry Williams

LarryWilliams

The Chargers are mourning the loss of Larry Williams, a former NFL offensive lineman who passed away on Thursday.

The Chargers signed Williams in March of 1989 but put him on the Physically Unable to Perform List in August as he missed the entire season.

He was with the Bolts through the 1990 offseason program but was then released in September.

Williams appeared in 61 career games (44 starts) with the Browns, Saints and Patriots in his career.

He practiced law after his NFL career before becoming a college football administrator.

Williams, who was 62, initially worked at Notre Dame — his alma mater — before becoming the athletic director at Portland, Marquette, Akron and San Francisco.

The hearts of everyone in the Chargers organization are with the Williams family and everyone who knew and loved Larry.
