Kaiser Permanente Bolt to the Q kicks off 2016 Chargers season

The sixth-annual Kaiser Permanente BOLT TO THE Q takes place Sunday morning, July 24, marking the unofficial start to the Chargers' 2016 season. Runners can register for the 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run at www.bolttotheq.com up until race day. The run begins at 7:30 a.m. at Qualcomm Stadium.

Pro Bowl cornerback Jason Verrett will be at the start and finish lines to greet all runners.

Proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego, a non-profit charitable foundation serving more than 25,000 youth and their families in the greater San Diego region.

The BOLT TO THE Q 5K and 10K events start in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot and finish inside the stadium on the 50-yard line.  The half-mile Fun Run for children will also be held at the stadium.  All participants will receive a BOLT TO THE Q Nike Dri-FIT shirt and a commemorative finisher's medal.

After the race, runners will enjoy a post-race festival, featuring Kaiser Permanente Health & Wellness interactive areas.
