Chargers Announce Guillermo Orozco as 2025 International Fan of the Year

IFOY2025

A lifelong member of the Bolt Fam from Mexico City is being recognized.

Guillermo Orozco was named the 2025 Chargers International Fan of the Year on Monday for representing the Bolts from Mexico City, Mexico in the third year of the NFL's contest that celebrates international fans of all 32 clubs.

The International Fan of the Year honors extraordinary fans who inspire others through their passion for the game and serve as rallying forces in their local NFL communities.

And Orozco is the embodiment of that.

After his father passed away at a young age and his uncle became a father figure, the love for American football was passed down by his uncle.

He took him to his first football game to the American Bowl, a series of preseason exhibition games, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City in 1994.

Orozco then remembers gathering with his uncles' friends — former football players — to watch the Super Bowl in 1995 where the Chargers faced the 49ers.

From there, his love for the sport, and the Chargers, blossomed.

He fulfilled a lifelong dream of seeing the Chargers live and in person, along with his wife, in Week 14 of the 2011 season, a game where the Bolts routed the Bills. It began a family passion to travel every year, sharing the experience with those closest to him and the love of the Chargers.

Orozco has had the opportunity to see the Bolts since then, joined by his wife and two daughters, with his favorites being the 2019 game at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, a trip to Miami with a Chargers victory in 2019 and his first game at SoFi Stadium against the Cowboys in 2021.

He's been able to attend two games a year over the last three seasons, including in 2025 when he watched the season opening win in Brazil and their road win in Dallas.

Not to mention, he's turned his home into the place to be for Chargers fans in Mexico City since 2018, hosting people for carne asadas to watch the Bolts in action.

As the Chargers International Fan of the Year, Orozco will also represent the Bolts at the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh and attend all three days of the event, where the Ultimate International Fan of the Year will be announced.
