First Half Takeaways & Highlights vs. Jacksonville

The Chargers lead the Jaguars 21-0 at halftime.  Here are four key takeaways and highlights:

  1. Red Zone Offense – The Bolts began a perfect 3-for-3 in goal-to-go situations, with Melvin Gordon pounding it in for a touchdown and Philip Rivers finding Travis Benjamin and Antonio Gates. However, they had a chance to extend it to 4-for-4 before penalties and miscues led to a strip-sack and a turnover. 
  1. Third Down Defense– John Pagano's unit was 4-for-4 while forcing two turnovers.
  1. Gordon Keeps Rolling – Melvin Gordon had 14 carries in the first half for 56 yards and a touchdown.
  1. Hayward Shows Out - Casey Hayward became the first Charger to have two interceptions in a half since Eric Weddle in 2011.
