Don't Miss Casey Hayward Report for Extra from the NAACP Red Carpet

As a Pro Bowl cornerback in the NFL, Casey Hayward is used to answering questions from reporters on a daily basis.

However, Casey is not accustomed to being the one asking the questions.

Over the weekend, Hayward served as co-host alongside AJ Calloway on the NAACP Image Awards' red carpet for the hit show Extra.  The segment will air tonight, so be sure to check out local airtimes to catch the Chargers star mingle with some of Hollywood’s biggest names

"It was a lot of fun and exciting, but it was a lot different to be asking the questions instead of answering," he laughed afterwards.  "It's a lot harder to have to ask questions back to back to back instead of answering them, but it was a great experience. Extra was great. They made sure everything flowed right, and A.J. was cool! He's a legend for anyone who watched BET growing up, especially 106 & Park. It was so easy and natural for him.  Everything was smooth off his tongue, and all the stars wanted to stop to speak with him. That made it easy, too!"

Hayward relished the chance to make his red carpet debut.   However, he admitted to being star struck on more than one occasion.

"When John Legend came over, AJ had to lead that interview because it was nerve-wracking to meet him! I mean, look at how many Grammys and awards he's won.  People don't even know all the other things he does like producing outside of music.  That's what I learned from that interview.  It was crazy meeting him."

While Hayward interviewed numerous celebrities and TV stars, one stuck out as his favorite.

"Anthony Anderson," he said, although he didn't want to spoil why the star of Black-ish and that evening's host was so memorable.  "It was a great one.  It went really smooth, and he's really funny."

So, how did Hayward fare in his debut?

"Casey proved he is a talent on and off the field," the producers from Extra said after the show. "We had so much fun showcasing him on Extra. Be sure to tune in tonight!"
