Bolts Sign Massive Tackle Tyler Marz; Chris Hairston Out for Year

The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Wednesday that veteran tackle Chris Hairston is out for the year after being placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list.  To take his place, the team signed tackle Tyler Marz off the Tennessee Titans' practice squad.

A massive 6-7, 316-pound tackle out of Wisconsin, Marz initially signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2016.  He spent the entire year on Tennessee's practice squad, as well as the first two weeks of the 2017 campaign.

Marz was a four-year letterman at Wisconsin, playing in 51 games with 40 starts.  He joins some familiar faces in the Chargers' locker room, having played with Melvin Gordon and Derek Watt during his tenure in Madison. Most notably, Marz started all 14 games at left tackle in 2014 with Gordon as the featured tailback, helping the Badgers average 468.9 yards per game, which was the third best in school history.
