Bolts Re-Sign Jahleel Addae

The Chargers unearthed a gem in undrafted safety Jahleel Addae three years ago and have reaped the benefits ever since.

San Diego's coaches and front office executives have openly called the 26-year old a building block for the future, which is why they placed a second-round tender on the restricted free agent on the first day of free agency.

On Thursday, Addae officially signed his one-year contract.

"The Hitman" is known for routinely delivering bone-rattling hits that bring fans to their feet, making him an intimidating force in the secondary.  The 5-10, 195-pound safety ascended into a starting role in 2015, totaling 65 tackles, two tackles for loss, four passes defensed and one sack in 13 games.

Since signing as an undrafted free agent out of Central Michigan in 2013, Addae has totaled 151 tackles, seven passes defensed, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 40 career games.  He is the 12th player the Chargers struck a deal with during free agency and the third defensive back, joining safety Dwight Lowery and CB Casey Hayward.
