Corey Liuget has been an advocate for "sacking" heart disease ever since his son, Corey Jr., was born with a heart condition. In 2017, he made a promise to donate heart health testing and CPR kits to inner-city schools for each sack he recorded as well as each Chargers win. In April, he fulfilled that promise by donating 10 kits to schools in Lynwood School District. Well due to his great work, Liuget was honored with the American Heart Association's Heart Hero Award at their Annual Heart & Stroke Ball.

Head Coach Anthony Lynn wasn't the only member of the Chargers who earned his degree this offseason. Running back Austin Ekeler went back to Western State to finish his final credits and earn a degree in business with an emphasis in energy management. Defensive end Chris Landrum also hit the books to finish his master's degree.

Both players got a special surprise this week after practice to honor their educational achievements.
