Bolts Beef Up D-Line with NT Brandon Mebane

The Seattle Seahawks have boasted a vaunted defense over the past few seasons.

Now, a key member is heading to America's Finest City.

The Chargers continued to make a splash on the first day of free agency when they agreed on a three-year contract with massive nose tackle Brandon Mebane.

A true anchor in the middle, Mebane has been one of the most consistent defensive linemen since being drafted by the Seahawks in the third round (85th overall) in 2007.  He has recorded 349 tackles and 15.5 sacks in 131 career games, and has started the last 126 games he has played. The 6-1, 311-pound DT posted 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games last season.  Mebane twice posted 56 tackles in a single season (2011-12), and had a career-high 5.5 sacks in 2008. He helped Seattle win Super Bowl XLVIII with three solo stops from the interior against the Denver Broncos.
