The Chargers have added some veteran offensive line help to their roster before the playoffs.

The Bolts announced Monday that they have signed Ben Cleveland to the practice squad.

Here are five things to know about the newest Chargers offensive lineman:

1. Coming from Baltimore

Cleveland comes to the Chargers after starting his career with the Ravens.

The offensive lineman was selected in the third round (No. 94 overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft by Baltimore, where he spent five seasons in the offensive trenches.

He played in 64 total games and made seven starts while also appearing in five playoff games.

The veteran has seen action in 2025 as well, playing in 10 games for the Ravens.

2. Familiarity in the building

Add another former Raven to the mix in Los Angeles.

Cleveland was drafted by Baltimore when current Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz was in the front office as the Director of Player Personnel.

Not to mention, he was drafted into an offense that at the time was led by Greg Roman, who was the offensive coordinator for his first two seasons in the NFL.

Cleveland played in 21 total games under Roman's offense and made five starts.

3. Playing in different spots

The 6-foot-6, 355-pound offensive lineman has seen action in the NFL at a variety of different spots.

The bulk of Cleveland's action during his first five seasons have come at left guard, where he's played 392 offensive snaps.

He also has a good amount of experience at right guard by playing 247 snaps at that position.

Of his seven starts, four have came at left guard and three have came at right guard.

4. Former SEC Lineman

Prior to his NFL career, Cleveland was a top offensive lineman in the SEC at Georgia.

He played in 45 career games (25 starts) at Georgia, becoming a full-time starter in 2020 and earning First-Team All-SEC honors.

He also has experience playing on the same offensive line as one of his new teammates in Jamaree Salyer from their time with the Bulldogs.

The two lineman played together from 2018 to Cleveland's final year in 2020. Salyer saw the bulk of his action in 2020 at left tackle while Cleveland manned the right guard spot.

5. More OL depth

It remains to be seen how, or if, Cleveland factors into the mix on the offensive line.

But as we've seen with Hortiz and his staff, they have done this before adding a veteran to the practice squad before the playoffs to bolster the depth heading into January.
