Alex Spanos was born to a family of working-class Greek immigrants. Growing up, the value of family was impressed upon him every day. As owners of a nationally renowned real estate company and a national sports team, Alex and Faye Spanos put everything they had into doing things right for the families and the communities who needed them. "Anything we do for our children to help them live meaningful lives is worth doing." And this is no less true of their philanthropy.
Founded by Alex and Faye Spanos in 1995, the public 501c3 Impact Fund has focused on improving the circumstances of families like Alex's. Over the years, the Fund has awarded more than $11 million in direct community assistance, including more than $5 million to public schools for athletic equipment, physical fitness programming and high school football programs.
Now with the Chargers in their new home of Los Angeles, the Spanos family and the Los Angeles Chargers Impact Fund are expanding their scope of work even more, helping to lift more families up all over Southern California, all in the spirit of Alex and Faye's commitment to working hard at everything they do.
